This advice came too late for a man from Mexico who decided to hop into a vehicle that contained the spicy food in order to get into the USA.
The stowaway was found face-down in a vast number of peppers while under the influence of alcohol, according to reports.
‘There was a bottle of tequila next to him and he appeared to be highly intoxicated,’ Columbus Port Director Robert Reza said.
He had been trying to catch a lift to New Mexico and reportedly told police he wanted to eventually get to Chicago.
The unnamed 35-year-old man is not thought to have suffered any adverse effects from being in the truck full of peppers but we can imagine it wasn’t the most comfortable of experiences.
He was sent back to Mexico after he was caught.
