To make your quest for stain removal easy, use a stain stick which you can gently rub on the affected areas. Inspect also the pockets for stains caused by a ball point ink. There two ways by which you can wash dress shirts and men\’s polo shirts – by hand or with the use of washing machine. Whichever method you prefer, begin by preparing ample amount of lukewarm water. To have a soapy washing mixture, add some gentle detergent. Mix the water and detergent well. Then, soak the shirt in the soapy mixture. Let it stay there for a maximum of ten minutes. If you are using a washing machine, gentle cycle is recommended. If you are going to wash it by hand, ensure the rub it gently. Gentle washing will prevent the fabric from unwanted damages. Perhaps, you notice that the collars and sleeves have ac***ulated much dirt. Apply some detergent directly on to these parts. Rub them with much pressure than before until the dirt disappears. Leave your shirt to a five-minute soak. Afterwards, rinse it well with clean water.

When it comes to drying your formal dress shirts, you can use the machine dryer. Here is one thing to remember. Never wrinkle them so as to remove the excess water they have absorbed. Wrinkling them will make them shrink. Use a non-metal hanger to air dry them. Metal hangers may rust. Wooden hangers, on the other hand, may fade. Hangers made of plastic would be the best option.

When it comes to ironing, be sure that you have flat and wide ironing board, a regular or a steam iron and a sprinkler. Start ironing the sleeves as when they have been ironed they may be left dangling with out creasing themselves. Ironing the other way around would wrinkle the other parts of the shirt that have already been ironed. Next, iron the cuffs. Make sure that you open them for ironing. As for the collar, lay it flat on the board and iron it that way. Then, iron the front and back parts. Hang it. Let it cool first before wearing it.
