The Annoying Salesman

Have you ever walked into a big store like walmart, Costco, best buy, or target and instantly had a salesman come up to you and start trying to sell you different products? Most people will say yes and this is one of the most annoying things people face in network marketing.

I\’m sure you\’ve heard of the term sales pitch. If you haven\’t then it\’s when someone will talk you into buying something from them whether it\’s a product or a stock in their business. The majority of network marketers take this approach and that\’s why everyone perceives them as the annoying salesmen just like in stores.

You may be wondering how you can avoid coming of to people as annoying or aggressive. This is a hard concept for people to grasp because when your new to a business you don\’t know any better. You want to sell as much as possible as fast as possible. The only way new marketers can think of doing this is to pester the prospect and try to recruit them until they say yes. This will create major problems because the customer won\’t respect what you have to say and will never want to join your business.

I\’m going to explain how you can avoid the pushy salesman persona with some easy tactics that can be implemented right away. The first concept you must understand is building relationships first. You have to build a relationship with the prospect before you can tell them about your company. If you don\’t do this they won\’t be interested in what your selling.

So how do you do this? This is very simple to explain but harder to understand. You need to build the relationship by asking how their day is going. Simple right?? Well there\’s more to it then just that. You have to listen and actually care about the answer. You need to get them to tell you about the problems they are having. nine times out of ten it will be financial issues. If you don\’t find this out first and try to sell them right away it would be just like walking into Walmart and getting rushed on by a salesman trying to get you to buy cargo shorts. You will most likely not care about what they have to say and this also applies to network marketing.

If you can find out what problems they are having such as credit card fees, loans, paying for college, then you can use your business opportunity as a solution to those. They will view you as a problem solver and want to work with you. Here is an example: You walk into a clothing store not really looking for anything in particular except shorts. An employee comes up to you and says if you have any questions he will be at register number 2. You look around the store for awhile and can\’t make a decision on the shorts you want to buy so you remember the employee that could help you. So you ask them their advice about short sales. This is when the worker tells you about their sale on cargo shorts. The majority of the time you will then purchase those shorts. If you use this exact same concept with your company you will be blown away with how well it will work for you!
