Biden's Son in Houston for Medical Evaluation

Vice President Joe Biden accompanied his son, Delaware Attorney General Beau Biden, to Houston for medical tests Monday after the 44-year old younger Biden complained of weakness and disorientation last week, Politico reports.

Beau Biden is “being evaluated to determine the cause of an episode of disorientation and weakness that he experienced while on vacation with his family last week,” said a spokesman for the vice president’s office.

According to ABC News.com, Biden experienced the symptoms last Wednesday night after a drive to Indiana for a family vacation.

The younger Biden was admitted to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago and traveled the following morning to Philadelphia’s Jefferson University Hospital to consult with his doctor.

Biden was discharged and spent the weekend at his Wilmington, Del., home.

No other details about the younger Biden’s health were released.

Biden suffered a stroke in 2010 at the age of 41.

The vice president is expected to remain with his son through Tuesday.
