Syrian Electronic Army hacks N.Y. Times

For the second time in two weeks, The New York Times website is not working for some users.

“The New York Times Web site is experiencing technical difficulties. We are working on fully restoring the site,” the Times announced via Twitter on Tuesday afternoon. Times spokespeople did not respond to a request for comment from POLITICO.

The Times’ site went down on Aug. 14, leading to a flurry of speculation about a possible hack. Times spokesperson Eileen Murphy said the crash was the result of “a scheduled maintenance update.”
