HILO, HAWAII (INTELLIHUB) — Protestors took their voices and signs to the streets Friday, to expose the “Wall Street billionaires agenda” and the privatization of certain government functions, including the “Veterans Administration” and “education”.
The group Malu ‘Aina Center for Non-Violent Education & Action organized the event which took place at the downtown Post Office. The group passed out flyers to passersby reading, “Stand Up & Protest! Solidarity of the 99%”.
The group speculates that the real agenda behind the government shutdown and “possible default” is to “cut Social Security, Medicare, crush wages, gut environmental regulations and privatize as much as possible.”
