Eric Sanders, lawyer for the family of 34-year-old Connecticut mother Miriam Carey who was fatally shot by law enforcement in early October near the White House, was arrested Tuesday.
He is being held on a $ 181,666.66 bond and was ordered by a judge to pay an additional $ 1,000 for every day he remains behind bars.
According to the New York Post, Sanders — who was a New York police officer before he became a lawyer who built his practice by taking discrimination suits against the NYPD — was arrested at his Melville, Long Island, home for failing to keep court dates and pay settlements.
