Violent crimes will skyrocket if Bloomberg’s gun control agenda is realized

Through a coalition designed to deceive the public, former New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg is currently pushing for gun confiscations across America which will cause violent crimes against disarmed Americans to explode.

Using Deception, Bloomberg Conspires to Completely Disarm Americans 021014bloombergmedia

Former New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg routinely uses mass media to propagate his agenda.

Bloomberg’s ultimate goal for nationwide gun bans was recently revealed by Poughkeepsie, N.Y. Mayor John Tkazyik, who left Bloomberg’s Mayors Against Illegal Guns coalition after realizing it was simply a front to destroy gun rights.

Founded in 2006 by Bloomberg and former Boston Mayor Thomas Menino, Mayors Against Illegal Guns recruits U.S. mayors into its gun control agenda under the guise of “making communities safer” through gun control laws.

Yet as we’ve seen time and time again, gun control only encourages criminals who wantonly ignore laws to commit violence against defenseless Americans.

In Jan. 2013, over 42 people were murdered in Chicago, Ill., which has the strictest gun control laws in the country.

Chicago police seized over 7,400 guns used in crimes in 2012 alone even though only around 7,600 Chicago residents have firearm permits, clear proof that violent criminals do not obey gun laws.

  • A d v e r t i s e m e n t

Chicago’s politicians practically granted criminals a subsidy by disarming the population, which made it easier for criminals to beat, rape and kill residents. Bloomberg wants every city in America to be just like Chicago and he’s misleading the public into believing that gun control will make them safer.

Additionally, prisons will be filled with peaceful Americans who violated the victimless crimes that are gun control laws.

For example, a New Jersey judge sentenced former police officer Dustin S. Reininger to five years in prison after he was arrested in 2009 for carrying firearms in the back of his vehicle during his move from Maine to Texas.

Even though federal law provides safe passage for a driver transporting firearms through a restrictive jurisdiction such as New Jersey, the jury never heard about the law during Reininger’s trial. An appeals court also claimed that the law didn’t apply in his case because the SUV he was driving did not have a trunk.

This is what Bloomberg wants in America: citizens such as Reininger to be victimized by both the system and by criminals.

Others have also been victimized throughout history as governments around the world passed gun control laws to disarm and later oppress their populations.

In 1929, the Soviet Union enacted gun control and over the next 25 years, around 20 million disarmed dissidents were rounded up and killed. Germany also established gun control in 1938 and by 1945, at least 13 million defenseless people were murdered.

The Nazis also inherited gun registration lists from the Weimar Republic which allowed them to quickly disarm their political opposition and cement their control over Germany.

New York City began using the same tactic over 75 years later to send out notices to registered gun owners demanding that they turn in their firearms.

Because the gun registry was already in place prior to New York’s newly enacted gun control law, all the New York Police Dept. had to do was compile a list of newly-banned firearms and identify which residents owned them.

Bloomberg wants similar gun confiscations to happen across America and he will use lies and deception to achieve his goal.

Barack Obama Tells Mike Bloomberg To Give Up On Gun Control

Mediaite.com:

After donating $ 2.5 million to the Democratic Senate Majority PAC, America’s favorite Democrat-turned-Republican-turned-independent, former New York City mayor Mike Bloomberg, is signaling that his great crusade against guns is running out of steam. The need for new gun laws that was so pressing in 2013, and that Bloomberg and his organization, Mayors Against Illegal Handguns, lobbied so hard for, is apparently no longer so acute.

When he was not belittling or cajoling gun control’s foes, Bloomberg spent the better part of 2013 agitating for stricter gun laws. As recently as December 14, the first anniversary of the massacre in Newtown, both Bloomberg’s group and President Barack Obama’s political arm, Organizing for Action, sent out messages to their supporters insisting that the need for stricter gun laws is no less critical today than it was one year ago.

But their actions speak differently. The president and Democrats were happy to support Bloomberg’s opposition toward the proliferation of firearms so long as it was not principled. However, when Bloomberg’s group released an ad targeting Sen. Mark Pryor (D-AR) over his opposition to new gun ownership restrictions, it became clear that Bloomberg was actually serious about this public policy initiative. So serious, in fact, that he would go as far as to challenge an embattled Democratic incumbent whose loss in November could help hand control of the U.S. Senate over to Republicans. This could not stand.

“There had been information that I had as recently as two weeks ago that he was resisting pressure from both [Sens. Charles] Schumer (D-NY) and [Harry] Reid (D-NV) to defend Mark Pryor, or not to attack Mark Pryor, on the gun issue,” MSNBC host Andrea Mitchell said of Bloomberg’s latest move on Tuesday.

Mitchell observed that Bloomberg had previously appeared to be “single issue focused on guns at the risk of jeopardizing Senate for Democrats.” TIME Magazine reporter Mark Halperin confirmed that Bloomberg not only resisted pressure from the two highest ranking Democrats in the Senate, but also former President Bill Clinton, who asked Bloomberg to temper his enthusiasm for attacking politicians who oppose stricter gun laws if those politicians happen to be Democrats.

Halperin added that, while there are many Democrats in the Senate up for reelection this year, they all enjoy some advantages; including strong fundraising, weak Republican challengers, and incumbency itself. These incumbents, he insisted, may hang on in November in spite of six-year midterm headwinds, but attacking these Senate Democrats from the left could imperil them by reducing the base’s enthusiasm.

CNN reports that the Democratic Super PAC to which Bloomberg donated millions has already gone up with ads in support of some of this election cycle’s most embattled Senate Democrats, including Pryor, Kay Hagan (D-NC) and Mark Begich (D-AK). Each voted “no” on a resolution that would have banned high-capacity magazines in April of last year. Thus, Bloomberg has financially rooted himself on both sides of the guns issue.

Bloomberg, Watts Team Up to Demand Tougher Gun Control Measures

NewsMax – by Drew MacKenzie

Outgoing New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg has joined forces with gun control crusader Shannon Watts to urge Congress to enact tougher measures to prevent the spread of illegal firearms.

Bloomberg’s organization Mayors Against Illegal Guns and Watts’ group Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense have combined to create “a nationwide movement” of Americans to put pressure on lawmakers for expanded background checks on all gun purchases.

In a joint editorial in Politico Magazine, the pair wrote Monday that gun buyers with “something to hide” are turning to unlicensed “private sellers” over the Internet and to gun show dealers who aren’t required to conduct background checks.

“It’s like offering two lines at the airport, one with security and one with none,” the two said about the nation’s background check laws. “Criminals are naturally choosing the latter. And Americans are dying as a result.”

They pointed out that due to the vast power of the gun lobby in Washington it’s “an uphill battle” in closing dangerous loopholes in the background check system and in strengthening gun control enforcement.

“For decades, the gun lobby has had the field to itself, fear-mongering to raise money and sell firearms, and claiming any measure to keep guns out of the hands of criminals is a step on the way to gun confiscation, which is of course nonsense,” Bloomberg and Watts wrote. “Those falsehoods have undermined public safety for generations, allowing millions of innocent Americans to be murdered.”

Mayors Against Illegal Guns was formed in 2006 with a group of 15 mayors creating a bipartisan coalition for more gun control. The organization now has more than 1,000 mayors in its membership and claims 1.5 million supporters.

Moms Demand Action was started by Watts as a grassroots campaign on Facebook on Dec. 15, 2012, a day after the Sandy Hook school massacre in Newtown, Conn. A year later, the group has 130,000 active members and chapters in all 50 states.

“The passion of moms who think every day about the safety of their children, families and neighborhoods helped make the group a prominent voice in the gun debate,” said Bloomberg and Watts. “To get Congress to listen, we must unite supporters from every walk of life. And that is why our two organizations are merging.”

The editorial noted that on average 33 Americans are murdered every day with guns, mostly with illegal firearms. But the two also pointed out that New York has become the nation’s safest big city, with murder rates down to record lows, partially because of a crackdown on illegal guns.

“But 90 percent of guns recovered at New York crime scenes come from out of state, mostly from states that don’t require background checks on all gun purchases,” the two wrote. “Clearly, this is a national problem that requires national action.”

They added, “Combining the legal and policy expertise of mayors with the passion and determination of moms will create a force for change that political leaders will not be able to ignore.”

Bloomberg leaves office on December 31st; Democrat Bill de Blasio will be taking over as the city’s chief executive.

Bloomberg seeks mandatory fingerprinting for NYC public housing residents

Published time: August 17, 2013 09:38

The 620,000 residents living in public housing projects should be fingerprinted as a crime-prevention measure, said New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg, but many city residents protest that the proposal is an invasion of privacy.

Bloomberg, 71, who has acquired a reputation for promoting controversial ideas, including imposing a ban on the sale of large soft drinks, says his latest proposal will make public housing safer.

“The people that live (in public housing), most of them, want more police protection,” the three-time mayor said on his weekly WOR radio broadcast Friday. “They want more people. If you have strangers walking in the halls of your apartment building, don’t you want somebody to stop and say: ‘Who are you, why are you here?’”

He added: “What we really should have is fingerprinting to get in, since there’s an allegation that some of the apartments aren’t occupied by the people who originally have the lease.”

Just 5 percent of New York’s population lives in public housing, but 20 percent of the city’s reported crime is committed by residents of government-subsidized housing projects, Bloomberg said.

“We’ve just got to find some way to keep bringing crime down there.”

His spokesman said Bloomberg wants to introduce biometric security technology that would include the introduction of a citywide electronic keycard system for housing residents, AP reported.

Critics say Bloomberg’s latest proposal is a political step too far, especially as it comes on the heels of the highly divisive stop-and-frisk legislation, which opponents say amounts to racial profiling on the part of the police.

“We live here all these years, I mean, what seems to be the problem? This is not jail,” Deborah Gatling, a resident of Chelsea Houses, told CBS.

US District Judge Shira A. Scheindlin on Monday ruled that the NYPD’s stop-and-frisk searches are a violation of constitutional rights, according to documents filed in a Manhattan court.

The federal court found that stop-and-frisk represented a violation of the Fourth Amendment, which forbids unreasonable searches. The court presented statistics that police conducted at least 200,000 such searches without reasonable suspicion from 2004 through 2012.

Bloomberg, whose estimated fortune is $ 27 billion, making him the US’s 7th-wealthiest person, defended the stop-and-frisk policy, arguing it had contributed to a falling murder rate in the city. Murders have been halved since he took office nearly 12 years ago, he noted.

New York City officials say they will file an appeal against Scheindlin’s decision.

In a recent poll conducted by The New York Times, people were asked to rate Michael Bloomberg’s 12 years as the city’s 108th mayor: 52 percent described his performance as fair or poor, compared with 46 percent who described it as excellent or good.

Meanwhile, the controversial stop-and-frisk tactic, which city officials say has also reduced gun violence, has split the electorate: 50 percent approve and 47 percent disapprove of it, the poll found. Public approval for the policing tactic that critics slam as racial profiling is lowest among black residents (28 percent), compared with whites (55 percent) and Hispanics (59 percent).

Following the global financial crash of 2008, Bloomberg requested that restrictions on term limits for New York mayors be relaxed to enable him to run again to bring the city out of the crisis. In October 2008, the City Council voted 29–22 in favor of extending the limit to three consecutive four-year terms, thus allowing Bloomberg to run again.

The next New York City mayoral election is scheduled to occur on November 5, 2013.

Does New York City Mayor Bloomberg want to ban e-cigarettes too?

FoxNews.com
August 11, 2013

New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg doesn’t just want to limit the use of cigarettes – but electronic cigarettes as well.

In a newly leaked draft of three tobacco-related bills soon to be voted on by the NYC City Council, the new definition of “tobacco products” under city law would be changed to include e-cigarettes and related components, parts and accessories.  If the ordinances pass, the display of e-cigarettes and smokeless tobacco would be banned in retail stores.

Also, while tobacco and menthol flavored e-cigarettes would still be available in retail stores, all other flavored e-cigarettes could only be sold in age-restricted “tobacco bars.” But there’s a catch. New York City prohibits the operation of “tobacco bars” that weren’t opened before December 31, 2001.

Sparkler Terrorism: Bloomberg Urges Cuomo to Veto Fireworks Bill

Says bill would benefit terrorists instead of your average patriotic American

New York’s Authoritarian Mayor Michael Bloomberg wishes you a happy sparkler-free Fourth of July

New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg is warning Gov. Andrew Cuomo that crafty terrorists will all too eagerly take advantage of a new measure allowing seasonal sales of festive holiday sparklers if the governor doesn’t follow his nanny-state lead and veto the bill.

The bill, A6695A, seeks to amend a section of the penal law by reasonably striking from its definition of ‘Fireworks’ and ‘Dangerous Fireworks’ sparkling devices, novelties, toy caps, and similar devices…” The bill would allow sales of such radical terrorist tools from June 1st through July 5th, as well as between December 26th and January 2nd in counties surrounding New York City’s five boroughs.

But the NYC mayor, famous for attempting to impose such draconian measures as a ban on large soft drinks and even Styrofoam, believes passage of the law will benefit terrorists seeking to “harm innocent lives” instead of your average patriotic American trying to get his First or Fourth celebration on.

On Wednesday, Bloomberg’s state legislative director, Joseph Garba, released a memo citing the example of the failed Time Square bomber as justification for the mayor’s asinine overreaction.

“While this bill excludes New York City, legalizing these devices everywhere else in the state would, as a practical matter, have the same effect in the five boroughs,” Garba said in a memo obtained by the New York Post. “A recent attempt to harm innocent lives provides a frightening example of how legally purchased… fireworks can cause dramatic harm and even kill.”

Garba proceeds to use the example of Faisal Shahzad, the person who failed the 2010 Time Square bombing, as justification for wanting to keep the law as is, prohibiting the sale of the traditional, time-honored and relatively harmless Fourth of July staple.

“Shahzad purchased fireworks at a Pennsylvania chain store, transported the fireworks to Connecticut and created a bomb-like device that he transported into New York City with the intent of killing and causing havoc in a busy tourist area,” Garba said, according to the Post.

New York’s Gothamist correctly highlighted the utter stupidity of Bloomberg’s efforts. “Shahzad had to go out of state to buy consumer-grade M-88 firecrackers for his botched attack, and if the current fireworks bill becomes law, would-be terrorists like Shahzad would… still have to go to another state to buy fireworks.”

In respect to Garba’s reference to the failed Times Square bombing, in 2010 Infowars reported that the Pakistani man arrested in connection to the bombing, Sheik Mohammed Rehan had intelligence connections. Rehan had apparently traveled in a pickup truck with Shahzad throughout Pakistan a year before the bombing took place, and was a member of the terrorist organization Jaish-e-Muhammad, a terror cell controlled by the British MI6 and the CIA.

“Since the CIA has its fingerprints all over almost every Middle Eastern terror group, it’s unsurprising that an Agency connection to the Times Square bomber has come to light,” Paul Watson wrote in 2010. “We’ve never come across a terrorist who wasn’t trained, equipped, radicalized, entrapped, or provocateured by a western intelligence agency or a terror group controlled by a western intelligence agency.”

Despite the fact that the FBI orchestrates virtually every terror plot it foils, frequently entrapping witless patsies by supplying them with arms and coaxing them through agent provocateurs, Bloomberg continues his rule through fear campaign trudging out the same old narrative concerning the fabricated menace of terrorism.

Biden, Bloomberg try again on guns 6 months after Newtown

Vice President Joe Biden speaks to NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg at a press briefing for gun-control reform, March …

Vice President Joe Biden is renewing his push for gun-control legislation with an event slated for Tuesday, marking the first time the White House has held an event on guns since its legislative push for background checks failed in the Senate in April.

A Biden aide declined to give any details about the event, which was first reported by Politico.

“The commitment of this president and the vice president to taking action to reduce gun violence is as strong today as it was at the beginning of the year and in the wake of Newtown,” White House press secretary Jay Carney told reporters on Wednesday.

The failed bipartisan bill—crafted by Sens. Joe Manchin, D-W.Va., and Pat Toomey, R-Pa.—would have extended background checks to all commercial gun purchases, preventing people with criminal records from buying guns online. President Barack Obama called its failure “shameful” and vowed to continue the fight for the legislation; though, since then the White House has remained largely silent on the issue. It’s unlikely that the Republican-controlled House would ever support a similar measure.

Meanwhile, the gun-control group backed by New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg is launching a 100-day bus tour of 25 states on Friday, exactly six months after the shootings that killed 20 children and six educators in Newtown, Conn.

The bus tour, organized by Mayors Against Illegal Guns, kicks off in Newtown and will include family members of the victims from that town as well as from other mass shootings. The tour, called “No More Names: The National Drive to Reduce Gun Violence,” will travel to states to thank senators who supported the failed background check bill, as well as to pressure senators who voted against it. For example, it will stop in Maine to thank Republican Sen. Susan Collins for backing the reform, the tour’s organizers told reporters on Wednesday.

Bloomberg, the country’s most influential gun-control advocate, will also send a personal letter to hundreds of deep-pocketed New York donors on Wednesday to ask them to withhold cash from the four Democratic senators who did not support the background check bill in April, The New York Times reported. Those senators are Max Baucus, Mark Begich, Heidi Heitkamp and Mark Pryor.

Even though their national efforts failed, gun-control advocates have won important state-level legislative victories in Connecticut, Colorado, New York and Nevada in the past six months. Mark Glaze, the executive director of Mayors Against Illegal Guns, said the group has to “rebuild grass roots on this issue” to effectively counter the National Rifle Association’s influence.

Some Newtown families have also traveled to the Hill to meet with lawmakers this week about gun legislation.

Court dismisses Bloomberg suit against swaps regulator

WASHINGTON | Sat Jun 8, 2013 11:19am EDT

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – The top U.S. derivatives regulator won a legal victory over Bloomberg LP late on Friday when a court dismissed a case the data vendor had filed that claimed a new rule on trading swaps would hurt its business.

Bloomberg is one of a dozen or so providers launching a platform on which to trade swaps, as regulators across the world crack down on the $ 630 trillion market to prevent a repeat of the 2008 financial crisis.

But that effort would be hurt by a new rule from the Commodity Futures Trading Commission which will force buyers and sellers of swaps to set aside enough money – or margin – to cope with the impact of a deal falling apart, Bloomberg had argued.

That is because the margin on a swap should be enough to cover five days of unwinding the position, but only one day for futures, a similar type of product traded on rival exchanges, making them cheaper to use.

The court said, however, that Bloomberg had provided no evidence that this requirement would hurt its business.

“Bloomberg … simply assume the worst-case scenario … without grounding their assumption in the actual behavior,” it said in its ruling.

On another point, it said that the “plaintiff’s contentions in this regard are remarkably perfunctory and devoid of factual support.”

Bloomberg could not be reached for comment.

Commissioner Bart Chilton said in a statement that the CFTC could focus on the task ahead of tightening regulations of swaps now that “another attempt to second-guess regulators on financial reform measures sought by Congress and President (Barack) Obama” was behind it.

Underlying the lawsuit is a looming battle between exchanges and investment banks over who rules the lucrative derivatives market, a vast playground for speculators, parts of which were long unregulated.

Exchanges, which dominate the futures markets, have been regulated for decades and now operate at a lower cost because of the CFTC’s rule.

The banks hold sway over the swaps market, and fear clients will defect to the exchanges, hurting their revenues as well as the trading platforms – called Swap Execution Facilities (SEF) – Bloomberg and others want to launch.
