GOP pol to enroll in Obamacare

Rep. Mike Pompeo (R-Kansas) on Monday said he’s “going to try to enroll” in Obamacare on Tuesday and expects it to be “chaos.”

“I’m going to try to enroll tomorrow morning, October 1st,” Pompeo told CNN’s “New Day.” “I’m going to go online and try to get enrolled. I wish every one of them good luck. It’s going to be chaos. The president knows that.”

And President Barack Obama “needs to come talk to us so he can avoid a shutdown and avoid the chaos that the Affordable Care Act, starting tomorrow, will create,” the Republican congressman added.

Pompeo, who said it is “impossible” that he would vote for a short-term stop gap measure, blasted the Senate for not working this week and Obama for treating the Affordable Care Act “today like a sacred text” when pieces have previously been delayed for “his cronies.”

“The Senate didn’t work this weekend,” he said. “They went home. It was shocking to me. We finished at one in the morning, or so, on Sunday morning, and the Senate slept. I find that arrogant beyond all possible imagination that you wouldn’t come back and deal with this looming government shutdown on the day when the American people very much need you to be here working.”

“This President has already delayed big pieces of the Affordable Care Act for his friends, for big business, his cronies,” Pompeo added. “All we’re asking is to delay other pieces, like the individual mandate that will affect low income people in Kansas. Delay it for a year.”
