Michelle Obama Supports Campaign to Ban ‘Sexist’ Words

Language Police: FLOTUS channels Orwell’s 1984

Taking a page out of George Orwell’s 1984 - where words were banned by a totalitarian state to limit thought – Michelle Obama has thrown her weight behind a campaign to ban the word “bossy”.

FLOTUS tweeted her support for the campaign, which is receiving national media attention having been backed by celebrities such as Beyonce. Apparently, Beyonce (as well as Sony Entertainment which also supports the campaign) isn’t too concerned about the fact that her husband – and the Obama’s close personal friend Jay-Z - routinely refers to women as “bitches” and all kinds of other vulgarities in his songs.

Critics immediately shot back at Obama for lending her support to such a chilling notion, making comparisons to Orwell’s infamous ‘Ingsoc’.

“Girls are less interested in leadership than boys and that’s because they worried about being called bossy,” claims the campaign video. The solution is to ban the word altogether by encouraging parents, employers and teachers to strip it from their vocabulary and re-educate any poor unsuspecting bigot who dares utter it in public.

Illustrating once more how feminism is a top-down tool of cultural marxism – where language and culture takes the blame for all oppression thereby absolving the state, which is the true source of oppression – the campaign is the work of LeanIn.org, which itself is supported by a plethora of big banks, transnational corporations and PR firms.

Second wave feminism does little or nothing to advance genuine women’s right concerns – such as the recent designation of female drivers as potential terrorists in Saudi Arabia – and everything to hide behind the veil of equality as a justification for trampling on everyone’s free speech rights.

Given that literature is replete with examples of sexist, patriarchal and outdated language, forget just banning words, why don’t we start burning books? It’s for the children!

Mainstream feminism’s disdain for free speech is setting the stage for Hillary Clinton’s tilt at the presidency in 2016, which is why top Democratic Party operates like Debbie Wasserman Schultz are also backing these kind of PR campaigns.

Just as critics of Obama were labeled racists for questioning his policies, Hillary’s detractors will be smeared with the “sexist” tag when they dare to speak out.

The ‘ban bossy’ campaign video, featured below, is fast being overtaken by negative comments as the whole farce is rightly condemned for what it is – an onerous attempt to set a dangerous precedent of banning words and restricting free speech in order to fix non-issues contrived by cultural marxists.

Then again, I may just be a sexist thought criminal who needs to be re-educated and have his vocabulary forcibly reduced by means of a full frontal lobotomy – after all, it’s trendy and liberal!

Tea Party Republican spews vile, sexist Twitter attacks at Wendy Davis

  • Former head of the South Carolina Republican Party, Tea Party activist Todd Kincannon has unleashed a vile parade of hateful, sexist insults aimed at Texas Democratic state Sen. Wendy Davis. According to Americans Against the Tea Party, the attacks began earlier this week and have only gotten uglier.

Kincannon has enlarged upon early Republican attacks on Davis, insinuating that because she supports a woman’s right to choose, she must be a promiscuous, man-eating tramp. Calling her a “coke whore” and insinuating that she cheated on her then-husband, Kincannon wrote, at one point, “I don’t care if folks attack Wendy Davis unfairly. I just want her attacked.”

    He has tweeted, variously:

    - I don’t think I’ve ever met anyone who was as much of a whore as Wendy Davis. And I’ve met some epic whores in my travels.

    - I suspect Texas voters care that Wendy Davis was potentially going to Harvard coke parties instead of caring for her children.

    - Make Wendy Davis worry that somebody will dig up a Harvard classmate that she did coke with. Torture her until she begs for it to stop.

    - Wendy Davis has an abortion fetish and did in fact abandon her children.

    - Make Wendy Davis wish she’d never been born. #InsertAbortionJokeHere

The fusillade of misogynist filth has gone on for days, now, with Kincannon furiously unloading on people defending Davis as well as fellow conservatives begging him not to further damage the party’s image.

“Lick my taint,” he angrily told one female critic.

Davis is a rising star in Texas politics. She stood firm in the face of Republicans’ attempts to curtail women’s right to choose in the state, filibustering a draconian Republican law in a show of resistance that brought thousands of supporters to the Austin statehouse. She announced in 2013 that she intends to run for governor.

Pressure mounts on BBC over "sexist" gaffe by presenter

LONDON | Sun Jul 7, 2013 12:55pm EDT

LONDON (Reuters) – The BBC faced mounting pressure on Sunday to take action against one its most high-profile sports presenters for criticizing the appearance of France’s Marion Bartoli who won this year’s Wimbledon women’s singles title.

John Inverdale incensed radio listeners before Bartoli beat German Sabine Lisicki when he asked if people thought her father told her when little that she was never going to be “a looker” like Maria Sharapova so would have to fight harder for success.

The BBC, Britain’s publicly funded broadcaster, apologized for the comments after a storm of protests on Twitter, admitting the remark was “insensitive”.

Inverdale said on Sunday he had written to apologize to Bartoli and told listeners ahead of Sunday’ men’s final that he used “a clumsy phrase” about Bartoli in trying to make a point that not all players need to be “6 ft fall Amazonian athletes”.

But the apology from the 55-year-old, who has presented BBC shows since the 1980s, failed to calm the fury about his remark made 24 hours earlier and the lack of action taken by the BBC.

“This is appalling. Tennis is one of the worst offenders in sport in terms of the focus on women athletes’ looks and the BBC needs to take action,” Sue Tibbals, chief executive of the Women’s Sports and Fitness Foundation, told Reuters.

“I thought Bartoli was an absolute inspiration, so spirited and gutsy, and she does not deserve these outrageous remarks. This is not a one-off event from this presenter.”

A BBC spokesman, however, said the corporation had apologized and so had Inverdale and that there were no plans for further action to be taken.

Bartoli, 28, won the admiration of Centre Court on Saturday when she won her first grand slam title in a straight-sets victory over 23-year-old Lisicki that earned her 1.6 million pounds ($ 2.4 million) in prize money.

The Frenchwoman, celebrating her success in becoming the first Frenchwoman in seven years to win the coveted Wimbledon women’s title, shrugged off Inverdale’s comments.

“It doesn’t matter, honestly. I am not blonde, yes. That is a fact,” Bartoli said in a press briefing late on Saturday.

“Have I dreamt about having a model contract? No. I’m sorry. But have I dreamed about winning Wimbledon? Absolutely, yes.”

Twitter users praised Bartoli’s dignity as they called on the BBC to act against Inverdale.

Many of the Tweets included the hashtag “Everyday Sexism”, which has gathered a large following as people tweet examples of causal sexism in the workplace and public life.

“Isn’t it time the BBC woke up to the sexism at the heart of its sport broadcasting?” tweeted feminist blogger Leopard.

“#BBC apology over sexism comments not good enough. suspend #Inverdale & hold enquiry. Sexism is on par with racism,” tweeted yvonneridley.

The incident came after the BBC has this year faced one of the biggest crises in its 90-year history.

A sex scandal involving the late TV presenter Jimmy Savile threw the broadcaster into turmoil and raised questions about the organization’s ethics, leading to the appointment of a new head, Tony Hall.
