O"Reilly to Jarrett: Get Jay-Z"s help

Fox News host Bill O’Reilly told White House adviser Valerie Jarrett that the Obama administration has to enlist the help of “gangsta rappers” if it really wants to help young men of color.

“You are going to have to get people like Jay-Z, all right, Kanye West, all of these gangsta rappers to knock it off. That’s number one,” said O’Reilly, who attended the launch of President Barack Obama’s “My Brother’s Keeper” initiative Thursday.

Young men “idolize these guys with the hats on backwards, and the terrible rock — rap lyrics and the drugs and all that,” O’Reilly added, urging Jarrett to persuade “gansta rappers,” athletes and “tattoo guys,” to go on television and tell those who look up to them to “knock it off” and end their destructive behaviors.

O’Reilly also told Jarrett he wants Michelle Obama to come on his show and say, “You teenage girls. You stop having sex. You stop getting pregnant.”

(Also on POLITICO: Obama boosts minority youth)

Jarrett said she thinks it’s a better idea if the first lady spends time with young girls one-on-one, noting her mentorship program.

“I think it’s a great pitch to have her come on Fox,” she said.

O’Reilly said he thinks My Brother’s Keeper will work, but it will work faster if the White House reaches young people in a way that’s “so personal.” “You’re not getting gritty enough,” he said.

Jarrett also defended the proposed cuts to the military in the Pentagon’s fiscal 2015 budget. “Not that long ago you were telling us how we needed to get our fiscal house in order and tighten our belts and that requires a lot of sacrifices. But we’re not sacrificing the safety or the security of our country,” she said. “There’s nothing that the president takes more seriously than his responsibility as commander in chief.”

O"Reilly Attacks Stewart as "Living in Fantasy Land" for Calling Out Fox"s Scandal Mongering

It looks like someone’s got their knickers in a twist over being called out for their scandal mongering over at Fox. Bill-O was trolling for more attention from Jon Stewart during his Talking Points Memo this Wednesday night. He must be a glutton for punishment.

Here’s how Fox covered the segment over at their blog: O’Reilly to Jon Stewart: ‘Are You Hearing Me Out There in Left-Wing Fantasy Land?’:

Bill O’Reilly today responded to Jon Stewart’s coverage of O’Reilly’s interview with President Barack Obama.

“The Factor” host said Stewart echoed Obama’s sentiments that the issues discussed in the interview have been thoroughly investigated. O’Reilly disagreed.

O"Reilly to Jon Stewart: You"re in "Left-Wing Fantasyland"

Fox News Channel’s Bill O’Reilly fired back at host Jon Stewart Wednesday, saying Stewart lives in “left-wing fantasyland.”

Stewart on Tuesday accused O’Reilly of “dipping whole-scale into the full Fox scandal grab bag” during his interview with President Barack Obama before Sunday’s Super Bowl.

O’Reilly asked Obama about the Benghazi attack, the IRS scandal and the Obamacare website rollout debacle. Stewart said “many of those issues” had been investigated “on multiple occasions.”

Story continues below video.

Stewart said he would have preferred that O’Reilly ask about “loose nukes, Middle East peace, trade regulations, and the environment.”

In his opening segment, titled “Making Jon Stewart Understand America,” O’Reilly said, “These issues aren’t important to Jon Stewart or even to the president. They don’t see them as vital because they don’t pertain to social justice or global warming. So, if I ask about those issues, I’m a dufus, a scandalmonger. That’s the spin.”

O’Reilly called the claim that the issues had been investigated a “farce,” noting that there has been no final report issued on the IRS’ targeting of conservative groups, no one has been arrested in the deadly Benghazi attack, and the Obamacare fallout has not subsided.

“Are you hearing me out there in left-wing fantasyland?” O’Reilly asked.

Kirsten Powers, a liberal commentator who appears regularly on O’Reilly’s show, wasn’t impressed with Stewart either.

“I was interested to learn about the multiple investigations that have been done, particularly the IRS,” she told O’Reilly. No conclusions have been reached, and nobody has been held accountable, she said.

O’Reilly said he had invited Stewart to appear on the “Factor,” but he had yet to accept.

“We’ll send a car for him that is not subsidized by the government,” O’Reilly said.

O"Reilly: Will Americans Rise Up Against ObamaCare?

O’REILLY: I was talking this weekend to some health insurance people, big guys. And they’re happy, they like Obamacare. You know why? Because deductibles and co-pays are going up big time. That means more profit for the health insurance companies and less money for you.

O"Reilly: Why Is America So Polarized?

Not surprisingly, Bill O’Reilly places the blame squarely on President Obama.

O’REILLY: So summing up, the Obama administration has tried to move the country dramatically left. Many of the President’s policies are not working and that’s causing the polarization. Fox News is reporting it, not creating it.

O"Reilly: Press At Odds With Public Over Second Amendment

O’REILLY: There is no question the American media is opposing the majority of Americans over the Second Amendment. And the reason is that most journalists live in secure places. Here in New York City, many press people live in high-rise apartment buildings protected from intruders. But most Americans don’t have the money to do that. So they must protect themselves. That’s why the founding fathers put the Second Amendment into the Constitution — self-protection. Once again, when Americans lose their lives to violent crime, that situation should never ever be exploited for political gain.

Bill O"Reilly: Obama Right to Insult Putin

Some Republicans didn’t think it appropriate when President Barack Obama said in a Friday press conference that Russian President Vladimir Putin  has “got that kind of slouch, looking like the bored kid in the back of the classroom.”

But Fox News Channel host Bill O’Reilly, usually not a fan of the liberal Democratic president, thought it was spot on.

“I like what President Obama said. I think it’s accurate. Putin is an immature and irresponsible leader,” he said Monday on “The O’Reilly Factor.”

The time for detente with Putin is over, O’Reilly said. “How much more does he have to rub our faces in it?”

But guest Karl Rove disagreed.

“Vladimir Putin is a prickly personality, and the president needs to deal with him as the president,” Rove said. “He was dealing with him in that news conference as a pundit.”

O’Reilly countered, “There comes a point where you call out the schoolyard bully, and you slap him around a little bit.”

“Only if he thinks that you’re tough,” Rove said. Putin sees Obama as weak after such actions as unilaterally canceling America’s deal with Poland and the Czech Republic to build a missile defense system.

“Putin looks at him and says, he’ll stab his friends in the back. He’s weak,” Rove said.
