Analysis of Obama"s Second Inaugural Address

“A time comes when silence is betrayal.”-Martin Luther King Jr.

I wanted to give my analysis on President Obama’s second inauguration speech. From having a minor in communications and having some experience in public speaking I must admit that it was a well written and well delivered speech. The speech invoked feelings of nationalism and American exceptional-ism  It contained something for everybody, it gave each group something they wanted to hear. It was a great speech, it was also a great con. His words were hollow. He gave lip service to the Declaration of Independence, to equality of mankind, to the unalienable rights of “life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness”, when he denies those rights to thousands of people in this country and around the world on a daily basis, he dared to mention the patriots of 1776, and invoked the memory of the great Dr. Martin Luther King. However, he is not worthy of even talking of their sacrifices because he continues to deface their legacy and has made their blood of those martyrs of the struggle for human dignity and freedom in vain.

Last year Obama signed a bill H.R. 347criminalizing protest near certain politicians receiving Secret Service protection, crippling forever the 1st amendment.  He extended the Patriot Act which destroys the 4th amendment. He signed the NDAA indefinite detention into law and appealed to keep the power after a federal court Judge struck it down as unconstitutional. He has a not so secret kill list and has claimed to have the authority to assassinate American citizens by his sole judgment, denying them trial or due process. He also has continued the Bush era policies of extraordinary rendition and torture. Together that eliminates the 5th, 6th, 7th, & 8th amendments. He has assumed for himself power to dictate and create law via executive order like the National Defense Resources Preparedness Executive Order, which allows him to take over EVERY resource in the nation including people, infrastructure, food, energy, EVERYTHING, even in times of peace. It is important to note executive orders was something he denounced Bush for during the 2008 campaign. He has continued the racist war on drugs in violation of some state laws and the will of the people, there goes the 9th and 10th amendments. The last one that is hanging by a thread is the 2nd and he and the rest of the New World Order traitors are coming for that too. Even while claiming to respect our unalienable rights in subtle language called the clear and absolute 2nd Amendment obsolete in his speech. As you can see he has continued the International Elites agenda of the destruction of our Republic and the entire Bill of Rights started by his predecessors. Every reference to our Constitution, Declaration of Independence, unalienable rights, our principles and creed as a nation were empty words meant to deceive the people.

On war he said a decade of war was ending, but his administration has already extended troop presence in Afghanistan past 2014. He said that security does not require perpetual war yet he has personally escalated drone strikes on nations with which we are not at war, killing thousands of civilians and hundreds of them children. He executed an illegal unconstitutional war against a sovereign nation in Libya which has now sparked a genocide of black Libyans and led to the murder of our ambassador by the same terrorists they armed in Benghazi. He also continues to arm and fund Islamic extremists in attempt to bring down the sovereign government of Syria. His administration provided the assault weapons for the Mexican drug war with the “Fast and Furious” program. In his speech he said we will remain engaged and be the anchor for our alliances around the globe which itself will inevitably require perpetual war. When he says war is ending he only means covert operations will be ramping up. Martin Luther King who was staunchly anti-war would be turning in his grave to see this war criminal use his birthday and his legacy, while at the same time bringing war and death to hundreds of thousands around the globe.

I know many of you reading this will not be fooled by the confirmed mass hypnosis techniques of pacing and leading of his delivery or deceived by the words of the speech which are agreeable to almost everyone and taken solely within the context of the speech they are not by themselves false, you will see through the illusion because you already know that all of it is a cleverly crafted lie, and that the reality of his actions are the polar opposite of his words. For those of you who are only now awakening to Orwellian nightmare we find ourselves in, I hope this analysis helps to make sense out of the doublespeak. The whole situation reminds me of the old axiom “wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them”.

“Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.”-Matthew 7:15

People Magazine Puff Obamas In Interview, As Obama Blames His Problems on ...The Bigness of Government

Tim Graham

People magazine scored one of those year-end interviews, and they didn’t seem interested in breaking any news. Their own “news” headline on their website: “President Obama: ‘I’ve Got 3 Opinionated, Strong, Tall Women’” – his wife and daughters.

People managing editor Larry Hackett and reporter Sandra Sobieraj Westfall began by citing “NSA spying, healthcare.gov, and the shutdown,” only to pull up lame and ask “What have you learn about your management style?” Isn’t the better question what America learned about his lack of management? Obama lunged straight into blame-shifting, blaming – get this – the bigness of government:

THE PRESIDENT: Well I would distinguish between most of the things you mentioned, which weren’t management issues, but rather had to do with the fact that the federal government is big – 2 million people – and at any given point there are going to be problems that arise. The healthcare.gov issue, which is something that I was paying a lot of attention to [!], didn’t get done the way I wanted it. The government hasn’t transitioned into the 21st century on that front.

Then the People duo asked “Did you try to log on yourself?”

THE PRESIDENT: Yes, absolutely. My experience was no different from everybody else’s, whic was we couldn’t get on, and it was frustrating. The good news is it now works, although it’s still got some problems. My expectation is that next year when we sit down for this interview, there are going to be millions of people who have the security of health insurance for the first time.

There was one question about the opposition, not about their substance, but about their malignant intentions: “With this autumn’s government showdown, Ted Cruz and the Tea Party put front and center what partisan gridlock means. Do you see any path for getting past that?“

Story Continues Below Ad ↓

Obama repeated his standard line that the Tea Party – “the faction that would rather shut down the government than cooperate” – “isn’t representative of Republicans around the country, much less Democrats or independents.” Obama insisted immigration legislation is “something I think we can get done,” and added “People are overwhelmingly supportive of increasing the minimum wage. A majority of Republicans think that’s a good idea as well.”

He must mean Republicans in public polls, not in Congress. The latest Quinnipiac poll found 49 percent of Republicans in favor, 44 percent opposed – not quite a majority.

They asked two questions about NSA spying on German prime minister Angela Merkel, and then shifted to comfortable liberal territory: “You visited families fasting for immigration reform.”

Mrs. Obama said: “I met a woman in the fasters’ tent who hadn’t seen her kids in about a decade. She was in tears at the through that she is an economic engine here, and she hasn’t seen her kids. So this is about reunifying families. For me it was pretty impactful.”

From there, it went into everything People liked best, about how Obama interacted with the “three tall women.” He said “I’ve got three opinionated, strong, tall women…If they get together, they can have fun about my ears or being too loud, or how I dress.”

In his Editor’s Letter, Hackett returned to the wife-and-daughter dance at the beginning to build sympathy for Obama: “He takes abuse on Capitol Hill, in the press, and from some of his own party stalwarts. So perhaps it’s no surprise that President Obama takes a bit of a beating when he heads upstairs after a bruising day at the office.”

Hackett was still arriving apologetically about the interview that appeared in January 2010:

Obama is delighted by the ribbing he receives from his wife and daughters. This was the fourth time Washington correspondent Sandra Sobieraj Westfall and I had interviewed him, and he seemed both more tired and more determined than in past years (why he ever let us return to the White House, after we bumped him from a cover for a reality star’s plastic surgery, I will never know.)

The Obamas got bumped to the upper right for Heidi Montag, who at that time was still starring on MTV’s “The Hills.” But this is the People Magazine crowd’s definition of “news,” so the Obamas can’t really be upset. This is the type of voter they’re always looking to impress – the ones who wouldn’t know the size of the national debt, and might not be able to locate their state on a map.

Just as important as the words in this new interview were the pictures — Obama on the golf course, Obama playing with the new dog, the Obamas kissing at the inaugural parade, Michelle Obama with Muppets, Obama and his family on a book outing…and even the family walking to one of those rare church outings. The pictures don’t have to be representative — just positive.

Barack Obama"s Pants are on Fire

More than 40 days and 40 nights after it was revealed that what President Obama repeatedly promised wasn’t true, at last count 52 million Americans will lose their health insurance, mainly because Barry apparently believes that when it comes to choice, he knows better.

Based on the millions being unwillingly dropped from health insurance policies they chose and were perfectly happy with, Barack Obama must feel that Americans are incapable of choosing correctly. Not for nothing, but if the president is right, that conclusion casts a whole new perspective on his being elected twice.

Irreparable damage on the national level aside, after hawking the Affordable Care Act like a snake oil salesman, barking “Step right up, if you like your insurance plan you can keep your insurance plan,” some gravely ill Americans are finding out that the cure-all the merchant of “Hope and Change” peddled was pure quackery.

Now, after a panicked realization has set in, the president, doing what he does best, decided he should at least make believe that he’s sorry and that he’s diligently working toward rectifying the catastrophic situation he caused.

Appearing remarkably serene, Obama chose to share his remorse with NBC anchor Chuck Todd.  In an on-air interview the president said that he was sorry about people with cancer who, because they can’t afford the Obamacare premium, have decided to “let nature take its course.”

Feigning regret, the president acknowledged that people like Edie Littlefield Sundby, a woman with Stage IV gallbladder cancer who was dropped from her insurance, are “finding themselves in this situation based on assurances they got from me.”

After talking about how “we didn’t do a good enough job” in crafting the law (note the use of “we” instead of “I”), and unable to fall back on his usual scapegoat, G.W. Bush, the president, who modifies everything he says after he says it, first put the onus on evil insurers being responsible for modifying their plans after the law was passed.

Moving the conversation along, the president, who is gaining the reputation for being a liar around the world, said that “we” are doing “everything we can to get it fixed,” and that “we” are “looking at a range of options.” A “range of options” to do what, compensate for the disastrous results of three years’ worth of the president’s blatant lies?

And although it’s too little, too late, Obama’s on-camera façade of contrition was, at best, mildly amusing.  Then, predictably shifting into full-blown victim status, Barack Obama came out with something downright stunning.

Having lost his head for a moment, the Barack Obama we all know and recognize emerged when he bemoaned his having “been burned …[by] a website.”

Whoa! After spending three years actively conning the country into buying a product he knew the whole time was bogus, and after millions of insured Americans laid aside their cynicism only to find themselves without healthcare coverage, blame-meister Barack ‘Hey, Don’t Look at Me, I Didn’t Do It’ Obama now dares to say that a poorly-planned healthcare rollout burned him?

Yes! Constitutional arsonist Barack Obama, the man who advocates the saline-scalding of unborn babies, the person who regularly blowtorches the First and Second Amendments, ignites racial unrest, has turned the economy into burnt toast, inflamed relations with America’s allies, and set afire just about everything America holds near and dear, actually had the effrontery to utter the words “I’ve been burned.”

The only thing missing from the interview was Barack Obama having to have his smoldering pants be doused with a fire extinguisher.

Questioning Obama"s Competence

Where is Casey Stengel when we need him? In 1962 as the manager of the brand new and determinedly hapless New York Mets — 40 wins, 120 losses — he looked up and down his bench one dismal day and wondered, “Can’t anybody here play this game?” That phrase kept coming at me recently as I watched the impressively inept performance of the Obama administration in both foreign and domestic policy. On a given day, this administration makes the ’62 Mets look good.

This is a surprise — at least to me. If Barack Obama has an image, it is of the infinitely cool, cerebral leader.

The man can give a rousing speech, but he is, at heart, a planner and a plodder. Both his presidential campaigns were exercises in micromanagement — digital all the way. Obama was the better candidate, but he had, by far, the better organization.

Yet this same man has lately so mishandled both domestic and foreign policy that he is in mortal peril of altering his image. This unsettling and uncharacteristic incompetence became shockingly clear when Obama failed to come to grips with the Syrian civil war. I did not agree with the president’s do-nothing policy, but at least it was both a policy and intellectually coherent. What followed, though, was both intellectually incoherent and pathetically inconsistent — a “red line” that came out of nowhere and then mysteriously evaporated, and a missile strike that was threatened and then abandoned. It was a policy so wavering that if Obama were driving, he would be forced to take a breathalyzer.

The debacle of the Affordable Care Act’s website raised similar questions about confidence. This was supposed to be Obama’s Big Deal. The president has other accomplishments — navigating out of the Great Recession was no minor feat — but restoring the status quo does not get your face on Mount Rushmore. It takes achievement, a program — something new and wonderful. The Affordable Care Act was supposed to be it.

Something went wrong. People could not sign up. Why? Not sure. Who’s at fault? Apparently no one. An act of God. Something that could never have been foreseen. Another president might have had someone in the White House calling every day — no, twice a day — to make sure the program was going to work. But no, it was a shock to everyone, and when the White House rolled out its gigantic cake — maestro, some music please — no one jumped out.

Pathetic.

Here, I must mention that bit of theater in which various world leaders wax indignant about their telephone conversations being bugged by the National Security Agency. This is not Obama’s doing since the program predated his time in office. But the decibel level of the outrage does suggest that in Germany, France, Brazil and elsewhere, Obama’s standing is not what it once was. He and America are no longer held in either awe or respect and the bugging program, instead of seeming a necessary evil, looks both clumsy and silly. Bugging Angela Merkel’s personal phone — she who once said that when she thinks of Germany she thinks of “well-sealed windows” — puts at risk the poor NSA listener. He must be catatonic by now.

But the reaction of the bugged has been nothing compared to the bleat of anger coming from the Middle East. The Saudis, who usually whisper their differences, have severely upped the volume and now talk dismissively of Obama and America. They didn’t like the way we washed our hands of Egypt’s Hosni Mubarak, a steadfast and durable ally, and then dealt with the Syrian civil war in such a wobbly fashion. In recent days, the kingdom has rejected a seat on the U.N. Security Council and, in the person of its intelligence chief, Prince Bandar bin Sultan, has said the U.S.-Saudi relationship is strained. Bandar, a former ambassador to Washington, can hardly be dismissed as anti-American.

Saudi Arabia is an absolute monarchy, and in the long run Riyadh and Washington were always going to make an odd couple. But the current spat is not about values but about reliability and performance. The Obama administration has botched Syria and, in the Saudi (and Israeli) view, cannot be trusted to deal firmly with Iran. An erratic presidency has made the world a bit less safe.

History will someday provide perspective and say, possibly, that Syria and Obamacare did not matter. I doubt it. At the least, they help validate the once-frivolous Republican charges of incompetence. A competent president would beware. As Casey Stengel might note, strike three is coming up.

Shocking New Research Reveals Obama"s Legacy Could Be an America of Aristocrats and Peons

Warning: This story is going to make you very angry.

New research from inequality experts Thomas Piketty and Emmanuel Saez has revealed that we now have the biggest gap between the rich and rest of America since economists began tracking data a century ago.

This isn’t supposed to happen following an economic crisis. After the Great Depression, Roosevelt’s New Deal programs worked to prevent wealth from piling back up at the top. And over the past two decades, the percentage of income claimed by the wealthy dropped after each recession. But in the aftermath of the Great Recession, the top 1 percent has gobbled up nearly all of the income gains in the first three years of the “recovery” — a stupifying 95 percent. Economic inequality is even worse than it was before the crash. In fact, last year the rich took home the largest share of income since 1917 with the exception of only one year: 1928.

Is This an Accident?

Let’s take a look at the years from 2009 -2012. While working people were sweating it, the richest Americans have enjoyed a fabulous ride. For example, if you were in the top 1 percent in 2012, lucky you — your income soared on average by 20 percent. And if you were in the top 0.01 percent, you probably bought a bigger yacht because your income was up by more than 32 percent on average. As for everybody else? They shared a measly 1 percent rise.

In other words, the rich are getting richer, and the rest of us are frozen in economic purgatory.

For despite all the talk of the Federal Reserve’s “quantitative easing” driving soaring stock markets and a post-crisis economic boom, 99 percenters have seen their real incomes going down and their living standards depressed. Ordinary, hard-working people are not getting a slice of the pie, they’re barely getting a sliver. (Cue Obama’s apparent pick for the next Federal Reserve chair, the crony capitalist, bank-loving Larry Summers.)

The bailouts, which handed boatloads of money to bankers, can’t be blamed entirely on President Obama. But ever since then, the policies of his administration have pretty much fixed things so that those who caused the crisis have benefited, while those who didn’t paid for it. He has surrounded himself with Wall Street apologists as economic advisors, despite the existence of extraordinary economic minds like Nobel laureate Joseph Stiglitz who could offer sound and sensible guidance. Every chance Obama has to correct this mistake, he seems to double down and brings on another 1 percenter.

To be fair, Republicans have been the most ardent promoters of “trickle-down” economics and austerity policies that leave regular people behind. But centrist Democrats have done little to forge a different path. A few courageous progressive voices, like Elizabeth Warren’s, get drowned out by a chorus of “Let’s Make a Deal” politicians eager to screw the bulk of the population and reward the rich while filling their campaign coffers. Policies like cutting our social insurance programs and allowing the rich to evade taxes are hidden behind clever marketing campaigns: For hedge fund billionaire Pete Peterson, for example, who counts deficit committee co-chairs Alan Simpson and Erskine Bowles as his errand boys, the name of the game is “fixing the debt.”

What these plutocrats are really doing is fixing your financial future so that more money can be sucked out of your pockets to line theirs. Obama’s decision to focus on deficit reduction rather than job creation is the sure sign his administration sings the tune of the wealthy. The wealthy wanted deficit reduction, while the rest of us wanted investment in jobs, schools and infrastructure, as Northwestern University’s Benjamin Page and his team of social scientists have shown in their extensive research on public opinon. But we didn’t get it. Instead we got job insecurity and nightmare retirement prospects.

Making the Rich Richer is a Terrible Idea.

Making the rich richer is a terrible idea for several reasons. For one thing, it kills jobs. When regular people have money in their pockets to pay for things like food, clothing, or going to the movies, they are actually creating jobs. The taco stand can hire another cashier when people come in to spend their money on tacos.

But there are only so many tacos you can buy. If you have much more money than you can possibly spend, you’ll likely sock it away or invest in financial assets or start doing risky speculation, which doesn’t create any jobs. With banks deleveraging (cutting back on loans) and many companies fearful of borrowing given anemic rates of economic growth, your savings won’t be recycled. Even if you’re a rich person who builds a company, chances are you’re not creating very good jobs, and you’re also destroying plenty of them. High unemployment makes it easy to hold wages down and squeeze more and more work from desperate workers. Apple executives like to brag about all the American jobs they create, but a great many of them are crappy retail jobs featuring $ 26,000 salaries and little chance of a long-term career.

An economist might say that the economic return to capitalists has gone up at the expense of economic return to labor.

As Nick Hanauer, founder of Second Avenue Partners, told Bloomberg:

“I can say with confidence that rich people don’t create jobs, nor do businesses, large or small. What does lead to more employment is the feedback loop between customers and businesses. And only consumers can set in motion a virtuous cycle that allows companies to survive and thrive and business owners to hire. An ordinary middle-class consumer is far more of a job creator than I ever have been or ever will be.”

You can see the truth of Hanauer’s statement when you realize that while the concentration of wealth in America has been heating up for the last couple of decades, the job market has been pretty bleak. That’s what happens when Washington policy becomes “Who Wants to Help a Millionaire?”

If making the rich richer is destructive, why do we do it? We’re not supposed to be a country of aristocrats and peasants who labor at the pleasure of the wealthy. We’re supposed to be free and proud citizens whose labor, investment and idea drive the economy.

What’s happened is that the rich have been using the fairy tale of “rugged individualism” and our healthy skepticism of too much government to convince many of us that we shouldn’t have programs designed to promote economic equality and benefit ordinary people rather than the rich. And, of course, they’ve unleashed their bankrolls in Washington, where, since Newt Gingrich came on the scene, Congress has turned into what political economist Thomas Ferguson describes in the Financial Times as a “Best Buy system” where positions of power go to whoever can raise the most cash. “Uniquely among legislatures in the developed world, US congressional parties now post prices for key slots in the lawmaking process,” writes Ferguson. “The practice makes cash flow the basic determinant of the very structure of lawmaking.”

The rich are getting richer in that they control our legal and political systems. They aren’t going to give up this control voluntarily.

If we continue on this path of functional feudalism, we can look to history for hints as to what might happen. In the late 18th century, peasants in France expressed their anger at the brutes who were extracting their wealth by rounding them up in the Place de la Concorde and separating their heads from their bodies. Hopefully we can go a more peaceful route, joining forces in a mass movement that pushes our elected officials to get our economy and society back into balance through fair taxes, a robust social safety net, investment in working people, rules of the road that curb Wall Street’s excesses, and a plan to bring the financial sector back to a manageable size.

The Occupy movement was a hint that this might be possible. It was also a warning that the Powers That Be will do everything they can to shut such a movement down.

But if we maintain the current path, at some point, the 99 percent will be pushed too far.

Pyromaniacs on the Potomac: The Problem With Obama"s Second Term

Six months into a second term and the Obama White House is on the defensive and floundering: Benghazi, the IRS’s investigations of right-wing groups, the Justice Department’s snooping into journalists’ phone records, Obamacare behind schedule, the Administration’s push for gun control ending in failure.

Should the blame fall mainly on congressional Republicans and their allies in the right-wing media, whose vitriolic attacks on Obama are unceasing?

After all, the only thing the GOP stands for — the sole mission that unites its warring factions — is an unwaivering determination to block anything the Administration seeks while distracting public attention from any larger issue.

But surely some of the seeming disarray is due to the president, whose insularity and aloofness make him an easy target, and whose eagerness to compromise and lack of focus continuously blurs his core message.

Is the central goal of his second term to achieve a grand bargain on the budget deficit? Or progress on gun control? Or restore jobs? Or reform the immigration laws? It is difficult to tell.

Vulnerabilities come with any Administration’s second term — when officials are exhausted, public support has worn thin, “A” teams have departed, the media are disenchanted, and all of the low-hanging fruit in a president’s agenda has already been picked.

I painfully recall Bill Clinton’s second term (I left before Monica). George W. Bush’s second term was marred by Iraq and a colossal failure on Social Security. Ronald Reagan’s, by the Iran-Contra scandal. Even FDR got mired in a so-called “court-packing” scheme that lost him public and congressional support.

Which is why it’s so important for a second-term White House to define itself — to give the public a clear sense of what it stands for, and how it intends to tackle the largest challenges facing the nation. And then to work hard on this core agenda without becoming overly distracted by the inevitable fires that have to be extinguished along the way.

Even if a president fails to achieve this larger objective, he will at least have established a predicate for the future, and given the public a larger goal around which to mobilize and organize.

Barack Obama is allowing the fires to dominate because he has not defined his core agenda. During the 2012 campaign it appeared to be restoring jobs, rebuilding the middle class, and reversing the scourge of widening inequality. Since then, though, the core has evaporated — leaving him and his administration vulnerable to every pyromaniac on the Potomac.

ROBERT B. REICH, Chancellor’s Professor of Public Policy at the University of California at Berkeley, was Secretary of Labor in the Clinton administration. Time Magazine named him one of the ten most effective cabinet secretaries of the last century.
