Nun Reportedly Tells Catholic School Kids That Masturbation Makes Guys Gay

A Catholic nun has caused a firestorm after she allegedly told teens at Charlotte Catholic High School in North Carolina last month that masturbation can turn boys gay, and gay men have up to 1,000 sexual partners. Sister Jane Dominic Laurel, an assistant professor of theology at Aquinas College in Nashville, Tennessee, reportedly has a history of anti-gay rhetoric. In one of her online lectures, she called oral sex an abnormal act that’s “imported from the homosexual culture,” according to the Charlotte-based LGBT publication, QNotes. A Charlotte Catholic student described the lecture to the news outlet:

She started talking about how gays [sic] people are gay because they have an absent father figure, and therefore they have not received the masculinity they should have from their father … Also a guy could be gay if he masterbates [sic] and so he thinks he is being turned on by other guys. And then she gave an example of one of her gay ‘friends’ who said he used to go to a shed with his friends and watch porn and thats why he was gay. … Then she talked about the statistic where gay men have had either over 500 or 1000 sexual partners and after that I got up and went to the bathroom because I should not have had to been subject to that extremely offensive talk.

In one of her online videos Laurel reiterates that “a man’s desire for instance, for his father’s love, his father’s affection, what happens to it? It can become sexualized. And he can begin to think he has a sexual desire for another man, when in fact, he doesn’t.” She adds that boys who have been sexual abused also use “homosexual acts” as revenge. When reached by phone, Laurel said she hadn’t seen all the reports yet, and could not immediately provide comment.

Aquinas College President Sister Mary Sarah Galbraith defended the school presentation in a statement to the Tennessean, maintaining that, “the presentation was given with the intention of showing that human sexuality is a great gift to be treasured and that this gift is given by God.” But some North Carolina students didn’t agree, starting a Change.org petition that’s culminated in a Wednesday meeting to address the concerns, according to the Huffington Post. The students said in their petition: “We reject the suggestion that homosexuality occurs mainly as a result of a parent’s shortcomings, masturbation or pornography.”

It’s not only private school students that are subject to strange claims during sex-ed lectures. As we reported last year, public schools also invite religious abstinence speakers to talk to students about sex—and sometimes spread misinformation in the process.

Pam Stenzel, an abstinence lecturer who claims to speak to over 500,000 young people each year, allegedly told public school students at George Washington High School in Charleston, West Virginia, last year, “If you take birth control, your mother probably hates you.” Shelly Donahue, a speaker for the Colorado-based Center for Relationship Education, told students in a training video posted by the Denver Westword in 2011 that if a guy gets sperm near a girl’s vagina, it will turn into a “little Hoover vacuum” and she will become pregnant. Jason Evert, who has scheduled some visits to public schools on his 2014 calendar, advises girls that they should “only lift the veil over your body to the spouse who is worthy to see the glory of that unveiled mystery.” To see our full list of abstinence speakers who have given talks in public schools, click here. Good luck, America.

Cruz Informs Home-schooled Kids: "Job Of A Chaplain Is To Be Insensitive To Atheists"

Cruz Informs Home-schooled Kids:

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) on Tuesday explained to a group of children that atheists in the United States were working to take away their religious freedoms.

Speaking at the Network of Iowa Christian Home Educators, Cruz told parents and children as young as 3 that “school choice is the civil rights issue of the 21st century.”

Cruz repeated a conspiracy theory that the Convention on the Rights of the Child would allow the United Nations to take parenting decisions away from Americans.

“Nothing in international law, nothing in any treaty should be used as a backdoor vehicle to undermine the rights of every parent here to raise your children consistent with your faith, with your good judgement and the love you have for your children,” he said.

The possible 2016 Republican presidential candidate went on to cite a series of cases to assert that atheists were trying to destroy religious freedom in the United States.

“We have never seen an administration with such hostility to religious faith,” Cruz opined. “You know, last year, there was a chaplain in the Air Force up in Alaska who wrote in a blog post the phrase ‘There are no atheists in fox holes.’ He was ordered by his supervising officer to take it down.”

Should Your Kids Know How to Bug Out…from School?

hiking-backpack-through-grass-friendsThe Organic Prepper

There are many alarming trends throughout the American public school system, and one of the most unsettling relates to “terror drills.”

Paul Joseph Watson of Infowars wrote last week about “lockdown drills” run by the DHS:

The Department of Homeland Security is expanding its operations by running unannounced school lockdown drills, another sign of the federal agency’s encroachment into more areas of Americans’ lives.

“On Thursday, March 6, a team comprised of ten officials from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office, and the NJ Department of Education’s Safety and Security Task Forces visited Glen Ridge High School to conduct an unannounced school lock-down drill,” reports Georgette Gilmore

While authorities justify school lockdown drills as necessary exercises to prepare for potential school shootings, the likelihood of one happening is miniscule. Critics have pointed to the fact that the drills achieve little else than traumatizing school children.

Some have also argued that teaching kids to “shelter in place” rather than evacuate the scene of a shooting is bad advice because it is likely to lead to more casualties. The process of having children submit to armed masked men during school lockdown drills is also contradictory in that it teaches them to behave exactly the same way towards an actual gunman.(source)

But a quick drill with guns pointed at children are not even the worst of the drills being performed. Another type of drill began occurring in 2012. These are called “evacuation drills” or “relocation drills” and the kids are put on a bus and taken to a location that is not disclosed to parents. Michael Snyder wrote:

All over the United States, school children are being taken out of their classrooms, put on buses and sent to “alternate locations” during terror drills…In the years since 9/11 and the Columbine school shootings, there has been a concerted effort to make school emergency drills much more “realistic” and much more intense.    Unfortunately, the fact that many of these drills are deeply traumatizing many children does not seem to bother too many people.  Do we really need to have “active shooter” drills where men point guns at our kids and fire blanks at them?  Do we really need to have “relocation drills” where kids are rapidly herded on to buses and told that they must surrender their cell phones because they will not be allowed to call anyone? (source)

During these drills kids are not allowed to phone their parents and parents are not even allowed to know where their children are in many cases.  In some incidences during which the school forewarns parents about the drill, the parents are told that they cannot pick up their children “for any reason” during the drill.  Many schools now boast of having supplies to keep children at the school for 48 hours in the event of an “emergency” during which time the children will not be released to their parents.

And it gets even worse. In the name of predictive programming, do you recall a “drill” during which the police took over a school and practiced fighting “angry parents”?  I’ve been plenty annoyed at different schools my daughter has attended, but in no way have I been compelled to attack the school, requiring SWAT teams to defend it against me and my band of likewise irate moms.

In fact, there’s only one scenario I can imagine in which parents would storm the school to take back their children.  Mac Slavo of SHTFplan wrote about it:

Let’s consider the circumstances that would have to occur for not one, but two or more parents to lay armed siege to a school.

There’s only one real scenario that comes to mind, and you’d more than likely have to be a prepper or conspiracy theorist to even contemplate the possibility.

The schools which our kids attend have “shelter-in-place” emergency procedures that would be enacted in the event of an emergency such as a nuclear, chemical or biological attack. During these emergencies schools are to be locked down with no unofficial access into the buildings until the all-clear has been given. It’s unclear based on district procedures just what the shelter-in-place order means and what steps parents would need to take to get their kids out of school – or whether they could even take their kids out of school based on the emergency.

But basically, it boils down to this: If there is a widespread emergency, and a school locks down and refuses parental access to children, then and only then could we envision a scenario where parents might take it upon themselves to evacuate their children by force.

The ‘event’ in question would likely need to be mass scale, or perceived as mass scale, in order for a parent to be so adamant about getting their child out of the school that they would take to armed violence to get them out.

Is this what police are training for?

Someone, somewhere obviously thinks there is a legitimate reason for this type of training simulation. (source)

So when you put all of this together, it’s easy to see the future. The picture this is painting is that one day, a unilateral decision could be made to put our children on a bus, take them to an undisclosed location, and keep them. (Dave Hodges wrote a chilling article about the role of FEMA in these scenarios – you can read it HERE.)

Should you teach your child to escape?

Maybe it’s time to teach your child how to bug out from school.

By no means am I suggesting that this is a legitimate course of action for every child.  Some kids are too young or too prone to panic and poor judgement to safely bug out. Some environments are too dangerous for a young person to take off on his or her own.  Parents have to consider the skills and mindset of their kids before making plans like this. It can definitely be risky, and you have to compare it to the alternative of having your child herded along.

I have a huge amount of faith in my child. So much so that we have performed some of our own drills.  She attends a part-day advanced science program at a school 13 miles from our home.  She’s a lot more “aware” of events going on in the world than most of her peers because we discuss things like government encroachment and tyranny on a regular basis. She knows that she is not to get on a bus without my prior knowledge and consent.

If, out of the blue, the teachers just tell students to get on a bus, and there is no compelling reason for them to be doing so, it might be time for your child to use his or her own judgement on whether boarding that conveyance is actually a good idea.

If you feel that a school bug-out plan is a good idea for your child, here are a few things to consider:

  • If there are younger siblings at the school, your older children will need to plan how to connect with them, and whether or not to abort the bug-out if they can’t connect with the younger ones.

  • You need to set up a primary and secondary rally point where you’ll meet your kids.  This should be within a couple of miles of the school, and it should be a place where your children can stay hidden from the main road. The plan should always be to go to the primary rally point, but if for some reason that is unsafe or unaccessible, there should be a secondary rally point that is reached by a different route.

  • Figure out the route your child will take to get to the rally point.  Practice getting there from the school.  If possible, for reasons of safety and stealth, develop a route that does not use the main road to take them there. Hike or walk this route with your child until they are completely comfortable with it.

  • There are some situations in which evacuation is actually necessary. For example, some places are prone to forest fires and you wouldn’t want your child out on foot in such a scenario.  If the school building were to collapse, it’s obvious the children would be relocated to a safe shelter. This is the point at which your child’s judgement comes into play. It is vital to discuss different scenarios in which evacuation is necessary.

It is also important that your child have the proper gear to take off on foot, as well as the ability to use all of it.  It’s important to practice things like filtering water in order for a young person to feel confident doing so.

  • A hiking pack (My daughter keeps this  Signpost Outdoor Packable Handy Backpack Foldable Lightweight Travel Bag Daypack – Green in the bottom of her school bag)

  • Comfortable weather-appropriate footwear (winter boots, sneakers, etc.)

  • Water filtration bottle (we use THIS ONE from Berkey)

  • At least one full water bottle, but preferably two

  • Snacks like granola bars or energy bars (Clif Bars are made with good ingredients and are very filling)

  • Weather appropriate clothing (snow gear, light hoodie, gloves, hat for sun or warmth)

  • Fire-starting flint

  • Space blanket

  • First aid kit (band-aids are a must forpotential blisters)

  • Extra socks

Most of the other gear that you’d prefer your child to have is going to be deemed “dangerous” by the school.  Things like multi-tools, matches or lighters, or self-defense items are frowned upon and can result in anything from suspension by a “zero-tolerance” school system that seems unable to differentiate between a tool and a threat, to felony charges by the overzealous “justice system.” These are things you must take into consideration when choosing items for the emergency kit, and you have to weigh the pros against the cons.

Will this work for you?

This is not a plan that will work for every family. Only you can judge whether or not your child or teen can keep a cool enough head to execute a similar plan and use their own judgement in a surprise situation. Only you can assess the immediate environment and decide if it is safer for your student to set out on their own or to go with the staff from the school.

Do any of you have a simliar plan for your kids? Please share your suggestions in the comments below.

NOTEThis is not a debate about whether children should be educated at home or via the public school system. This is about a specific situation that affects many families in America who have made the decision to send their children to school based on their own personal circumstances or the availability of special programs.

Paul Ryan: Kids getting free lunches don"t have caring parents

Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI) asserted on Thursday that liberals did not understand that kids who got free lunches at school did not have parents who cared about them at home.

Speaking to the Conservative Political Action Conference, the former Republican vice presidential nominee argued that conservatives should let Democrats be the “party of personality,” while “we will be the party of ideas.”

“I’m optimistic about our chances because the left, the left just isn’t out of ideas, they’re out of touch,” he explained. “Take Obamacare — not literally, but figuratively here, okay? We now know that this law will discourage millions of people from working. The left thinks this is a good thing.”

Ryan insisted that liberals were only offering people “a full stomach and an empty soul.”

He then told a story of a “young boy from a very poor family” who received free lunches at school “from a government program.”

“He didn’t want a free lunch,” Ryan insisted. “He wanted his own lunch, one in a brown paper bag, just like the other kids.”

“He wanted one, he said, because he knew a kid with a brown paper bag had someone who cared for him. This is what the left does not understand.”

School administrators throw food away, waste tax dollars, let kids go hungry to make parents pay

DeliciousPin It

(NaturalNews) A Utah elementary school made international headlines recently after it was reported that administrators there starved out about 40 students whose lunch funds were lacking. According to The Salt Lake Tribune (SLT), cafeteria workers at Uintah Elementary School were forced to seize and toss the pizza lunches of dozens of students, offering them instead a small piece of fruit and a carton of milk.

The issue came about after an exceptional number of students at Uintah were found to have zero or negative balances on their lunch accounts. The district’s child nutrition department was called in to handle the situation, which began with them simply calling the parents of the offending students to get the accounts settled. But when some of the parents were unable to be reached, the district decided to confiscate and discard their children’s lunches.

“It was pretty traumatic and humiliating,” stated Erica Lukes, whose 11-year-old daughter had her pizza taken and thrown away by one of the lunch ladies that fateful Tuesday, to SLT. “I think it’s despicable. These are young children [who] shouldn’t be punished or humiliated for something the parents obviously need to clear up.”

What made the situation worse is the fact that Uintah collects lunch money from students after they walk through the lunch line. This means that the cafeteria workers did not know which students had outstanding balances until they were already standing in front of them with trays full of food. Those students with unsettled account balances were forced to surrender their food, which administrators say had to be thrown away in accordance with the health code.

“[O]nce food is served to one student it can’t be served to another,” writes Lisa Schencker for SLT about the issue.

Not long after the incident occurred, the school’s cafeteria manager was placed on leave for what two state politicians, a Democrat and a Republican, later declared to be an act of “bullying” toward students. At a recent press conference, Sens. Jim Dabakis (D) and Todd Weiler (R) chastised the child nutrition manager for her reckless handling of the situation.

“To me, this rises to the level of bullying,” stated Weiler to SLT. “Children were humiliated. I think it’s an abuse of power. This person came into a school and used her power to humiliate and embarrass children and I think we ought to draw a line and say that’s not acceptable behavior,” he added, expressing his desire to see the manager fired.

A similar situation occurred at Barber Middle School in Dickinson, Texas, back in November, when a 12-year-old student had his lunch thrown away after it was discovered that his account was 30 cents short. ABC 13 News in Houston reports that the boy’s mother had to leave work and drive to the school to settle the account so her son could eat that day.

“My son called me and asked me if I could bring him some money because they took his breakfast from him and he needed money for breakfast,” explained Jennifer Castilleja, the boy’s mother, to reporters. “I said, ‘Well, I’m on my way, I’ll pay for it,’” she added. “And [a cafeteria worker] said no, I would have to bring some money before he could have breakfast.”

This is What Happens When Kids Leave Traditional Education

This is What Happens When Kids Leave Traditional Education

The homeschooling movement is a radical alternative which is continuing to grow in popularity. Because schools only offer one type of curriculum and may not cater to each students’ unique learning needs, developing a new type of education offers many benefits.

Not only do parents have an active role in the type of information being taught, but meaningful relationships can be formed with children, access to nourishing, wholesomely prepared food is available (which has been proven to improve behavior and raise IQ), and negative influences that commonly permeate mainstream education can be eliminated.

This is not to say there are no potential drawbacks of homeschooling (it can be quite difficult trying to pass off education as ‘exciting’ to certain young adults), but the opportunity to shape a child’s education based on their particular interests and aptitudes may accelerate their learning development and long-term success in life.

One example of a student who claims to be thriving as a homeschooled student is Logan Laplante. After leaving traditional education at age 9, he feels he was given the opportunity to create the type of life all kids want, “to be happy and healthy”. Now 13-years-old, he shared at a recent TEDx event how hack-schooling (as he calls it) is allowing him to make his vision possible.

Logan has the opportunity to tailor his education to his interests and his style of learning, but students subject to standard teaching methods and mainstream curriculum do not have this option. Perhaps it’s due to this reason that studies confirm home schooled children outperform their peers from both private and public schools.

hackschooling

Source: TEDx

Less conditioned to think within the confines of a crumbling system, home schooled children are much more likely to grow into a creative, adaptive, and forward thinking adults because of their schooling environment which encouraged such growth.

Logan’s story is similar to Jacob Barnett’s: placed in special-ed because of autism, he is now a 15-year-old theoretical physicist in line to win the Nobel Prize. With an IQ higher than Einstein’s, it was not his intelligence that needed to be questioned, but the method of best communicating with him and supporting his individual learning needs.

With different epigenetics, motivations, and biochemistries, all children learn in a way unique to them. To allow the youth of today to excel in their own development and contribute to society innovatively in the future, more open-minded curriculum and varied learning methods need to be adopted into mainstream schooling.

Public and private schools need not be condemned, but only allowed the opportunity to adopt change. There are many ways traditional schooling could be improved, but until it is fixed, homeschooling remains a solid and hopeful option for allowing kids to “grow up happy and healthy”.

Fertility Clinic Worker May Have Secretly Fathered Kids

Fertility Clinic Worker May Have Secretly Fathered Kids
http://pixel.quantserve.com/pixel/p-89EKCgBk8MZdE.gif

(Newser) – An exceedingly creepy story out of Utah suggests that a male receptionist at a fertility clinic secretly swapped in his own sperm during treatments, fathering at least one child and probably more, reports LiveScience. Oh, and this receptionist just happened to be a convicted kidnapper who once held a woman captive and used electroshock therapy on her in a failed attempt to get her to fall for him, reports KUTV. He died in 1999, but all of this has now resulted in a website reaching out to other possible victims called Was Your Child Fathered by Thomas Lippert?

The crazy story, first reported at a genealogist’s blog, began unwinding when a couple and their 21-year-old daughter had their DNA tested as a lark via 23andMe. To their shock, they discovered that daughter and father weren’t related. That made no sense because, while the couple had used the now-shuttered Reproductive Medical Technologies Inc. for help conceiving, the husband had given his own sperm to be used in the process. Further testing then revealed that the daughter’s real biological father was Lippert, who had worked at the clinic in the late 1980s and into the 1990s. The wife recalls him having photos of babies at his desk, and she fears they were all fathered by him. The clinic was affiliated with the University of Utah, which has been conducting its own investigation, notes the Salt Lake Tribune.
