Calif. Professor Charged in Clash With Teen Abortion Protester

A feminist studies associate professor at the University of California-Santa Barbara is facing criminal charges, accused of stealing a sign from an anti-abortion protester on campus and then physically attacking the teenager in an incident that was captured on a cellphone video.

Mireille Miller-Young, an associate professor, was charged with misdemeanor counts of theft, battery, and vandalism, accused of  accosting 16-year-old Thrin Short. She is scheduled to be arraigned on April 4.

Short and her older sister, Joan, 21, were among a group distributing pamphlets for the nonprofit, anti-abortion group Survivors of the Abortion Holocaust in a free speech zone on campus on March 4 when Miller-Young became disruptive.

Story continues below video.

“Before she grabbed the sign, she was mocking me and talking over me in front of the students, saying that she was twice as old as me and had three degrees, so they should listen to her and not me,” Short wrote in an email to FoxNews.com. “Then she started the chant with the students about ‘tear down the sign.’ When that died out, she grabbed the sign.”

The Short sisters and two other UC-Santa Barbara students followed Miller-Young, who specializes in and teaches courses on pornography, as she made off with the sign and tried to recover their property. After walking through an outdoor corridor and into a building, Miller-Young attempted to board an elevator with the sign. When Thrin Short blocked the elevator door from closing with her foot, Miller-Young “pushed and grabbed at the girl.”

“She then got off the elevator and tried to pull me away from the elevator doors so the others could get away with the sign,” Short wrote in her email to FoxNews.

Thrin Short, who suffered scratches on both wrists during the incident, captured much of the confrontation on video with her cellphone and has posted it on YouTube. She said campus police are now reviewing the video.

According to the Santa Barbara Independent, Miller-Young suggested in her interview with police that the activists had violated her rights by displaying upsetting imagery at her place of work and that she believed she had a “moral right” to take down the sign. She added that she is pregnant and was “triggered” by the graphic nature of the imagery on the sign.

It has not yet been determined whether Miller-Young faces any punishment from UC-Santa Barbara. A school spokesman declined to comment on personnel matters, per policy, but acknowledged the university was aware of the incident and said, “It is being reviewed by the appropriate offices.”

William Short, father of the two young activists, said Miller-Young went about her objection in the wrong way and that he hopes the impending legal proceeding will set a better example than she did.

“She was free to engage in a rational dialogue with them. Instead, she chose to bully them, steal and destroy their property, and hit and scratch my daughter,” Short told FoxNews. “After doing so, she said she thought she was setting a good example for her students. I think the goal of this prosecution should be to set a good example for her students, one that will not only deter her from repeating this conduct, but will also deter those who approve of her actions from imitating her appalling behavior.”

Boy, 13, Arrested And Charged With Felony For Throwing Snowball

Instead of preventing or dealing with actual crime, a police officer in Chicago decided to arrest a thirteen year old boy and charge him with aggravated battery to a peace officer after he allegedly threw a snowball in the officer’s general direction.

Crime: Throwing snowballs is no longer tolerated in the new America.

According to The Chicago Times, the cop reported that the dangerous icy projectile hit him in the arm while he was sitting in a marked squad car close to the boy’s school.

The eighth grader claims, however, that he didn’t throw the snowball, and that someone else in the group of around 15 kids was the real culprit.

“It made me mad,” said the boy, who will face a felony charge in juvenile court. “He (the officer) said the snowball hit him but it hit the car, not him.” the boy added.

“He kept trying to tell the officer that he didn’t do it but they didn’t believe him,” the boy’s mother said. “He was standing on the corner, there was a whole crowd of kids. It’s so crazy.”

“It’s sad, he’s only 13. I’m so upset, he’s never been in trouble before,” the mother added. “It’s his first case.”

In addition to being arrested, the boy has also been suspended from school for five days, under zero tolerance rules. The incident may be marked on his permanent record.

The report notes that the boy was singled out by his school’s dean and a nearby security guard. Neither would give any comment.

Some local residents are appalled at the ridiculous police action and have called for the charges to be dropped.

“I think that’s ridiculous — it’s such a big charge,” said Latanya Powell, a construction worker on the block where the incident occurred. “It’s just going overboard. I can see if it were a weapon and harm was done, but it was just a snowball. This is a case of kids being kids.”

Yet others are advocating making an example of the boy. “If [the boy] had gotten away with it, who’s to say what they’d do next? If it doesn’t stick to them now, they’ll be 16 or 17, and they’ll have a gun,” said Ray Fields, an educator and resident.

“If we as parents and educators don’t teach them right from wrong, then what are we teaching them?” Fields added.

The boy is lucky to have gotten away with a simple arrest, if previous cases of this kind of heinous crime are anything to go by. In a New York case settled earlier this month, five teenage boys were rewarded hundreds of thousands of dollars after a cop pulled his gun on them for throwing a snowball at him, before arresting and charging them.

Horse play with snow is no longer tolerated in the new America. Indeed, police will seemingly arrest children for pretty much anything now, including burping, dropping crumbs on the floor, doodling on desks at school, throwing paper airplanes, and playing tag.

Mother charged with son"s murder

The mother of three-year-old Mikaeel Kular has appeared in court charged with his murder.

Rosdeep Kular, 33, appeared in private at Edinburgh Sheriff Court, charged under her married name of Adekoya.

She is also accused of attempting to defeat the ends of justice. She made no plea or declaration and was remanded in custody.

Mikaeel was reported missing from his home in Edinburgh last Thursday, prompting a major search.

His body was found 20 miles away in Kirkcaldy, Fife, late on Friday.

The private hearing at Edinburgh Sheriff Court lasted only a few minutes and no media or members of the public were present.

The case was continued for further examination, with another court appearance expected on 28 January.

Forensic officers have been continuing their investigations at the site where Mikaeel’s body was discovered.

It was removed from woodland behind a property in the town’s Dunvegan Avenue at the weekend.

A house in the street was searched, along with an area of woodland to the rear and side of the property.

Ms Kular and her five children had previously lived at the address. A neighbour told the BBC that Mikaeel and his twin sister were born while the family was living there.

Mikaeel was reported missing from his home in Ferry Gait Crescent, Edinburgh, at about 07:15 on Thursday morning.

More than 200 volunteers from the community joined the emergency services in a huge search operation for the young boy.

Hundreds of people gathered at Muirhouse St Andrew’s Church in Edinburgh on Saturday evening for a service in Mikaeel’s memory.

Many also left flowers and soft toys and lit candles outside his home in Edinburgh.

U.S. authorities have charged 49 Russian diplomats and their spouses with conspiracy to commit healthcare fraud, alleging that they stole $ 1.5 million from the American government via a years-long Medicaid scam.

According to a criminal complaint made public today, the former and current diplomats lied about their income and citizenship status in order to qualify for the health benefits, which they used towards pregnancy care, births, and post-natal medical needs. They were also charged with conspiracy to steal government funds and make false statements relating to health care matters, reports the Associated Press. The complaint notes that medical costs associated with 92 percent of births to Russian diplomats (58 out of 63, from 2004 to 2013) were illegally covered by the U.S. government.

The FBI conducted an 18-month investigation which led to the charges, and found that the families spent tens of thousands of dollars on luxury goods and vacations while exploiting Medicaid funds. Only 11 of the diplomats charged are currently in the United States. The State Department would need permission from the Kremlin to prosecute the defendants, as they are protected by diplomatic immunity.

The entire incident sets up the potential for diplomatic strife between Moscow and Washington, which have not had a good year relations-wise. (See also: Snowden, Syria, Adoptions, Iran …

The New York Times calls the incident an "unusual twist in what has become a familiar criminal storyline in New York." The Times says that Medicaid fraud in New York has historically been prevalent among immigrants from the former Soviet Union:

Brighton Beach, Brooklyn, the center of New York City’s Russian-speaking immigrant population, has one of the highest rates of health care fraud in the nation, according to federal statistics. An analysis of data from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, the federal agency that regulates those two programs, shows that more health care providers in the Brighton Beach ZIP code are currently barred from the programs for malfeasance than in almost any other ZIP code in the United States.

Last week, a California-based company that operates nursing homes agreed to pay $ 48 million over allegations that it had committed Medicaid fraud for more than a decade.

3 California students charged with racially bullying black roommate

  • The three students have been suspended

  • One man booked into county jail on Thursday

  • 3 San Jose State University students shared a four-bedroom suite with black roommate

  • The three are accused of using racial epithets and posting Confederate flag, Hitler photos

(CNN) — Three San Jose State University students in California have been charged with racially bullying their black roommate by clamping a bicycle lock around his neck and decorating their four-bedroom suite with a Confederate flag, Nazi symbols, photos of Adolf Hitler and a white board with a racial epithet, prosecutors said Thursday.

The three students — Logan Beaschler, 18, of Bakersfield; Joseph Bomgardner, 19, of Clovis; and Colin Warren, 18, of Woodacre — are charged with misdemeanor hate crime and battery, the Santa Clara district attorney’s office said.

Neither the three students nor their attorneys could be immediately reached for comment.

Beaschler was booked in the Santa Clara County Jail on Thursday, with bail set at $ 15,000.

White students charged with hate crime

The defendants face a maximum sentence of one year in county jail if convicted, prosecutors said.

The 17-year-old roommate who was the alleged victim wasn’t named by prosecutors. He suffered a minor injury when he fought off the bike lock around his neck, prosecutors said.

“I can’t believe in the year 2013 that we’re talking about an African-American student being treated this way,” District Attorney Jeffrey F. Rosen told CNN. “We’re taking this case very seriously.”

The defendants are accused of nicknaming their black roommate “Three-Fifths,” an apparent reference to a U.S. constitutional provision that counted slaves as “three-fifths of all other persons,” prosecutors said.

When the African-American student objected to that name, the three roommates in the campus housing began calling him “Fraction,” the prosecutor’s office said.

The alleged harassment began in August and lasted through October, prosecutors said.

Are we too quick to cry ‘bully’?

San Jose State’s president, Mohammad Qayoumi, said in a letter to the student body Thursday that the three students have been suspended.

“Let me be clear: I am outraged and saddened by these allegations. They are utterly inconsistent with our long cherished history of tolerance, respect for diversity and personal civility,” Qayoumi’s letter said.

Members of the alleged victim’s family released a statement saying they were “deeply disturbed by the horrific behaviors that have taken place against our son.”

“Our immediate focus is his protection,” the family said. “We have taken a stand on this matter. Our response prompted the community to be alerted of the appalling conduct of the students involved.”

A total of eight men were living in the four-bedroom suite, but the remaining four students turned their back on the racial harassment, the prosecutor said.

“The other four were aware of this (but) … did not stand up” and allowed the harassment, Rosen said.

Parents saw the Confederate flag in the dorm suite and “the N-word scrawled on a white board,” Rosen said.

When friends become bullies

At least one of the defendants tried to downplay the harassment, and the three defendants then wrote a note to the African-American roommate, asking him to join their group, Rosen said.

But the black roommate objected to the harassment and sometimes “barricaded” himself in his room, Rosen said.

“The young man in this case was terrorized. It was difficult for him to study,” Rosen said. “He told them not to do this to him.”

Qayoumi said the university police immediately began investigating the allegations “the day our housing staff learned of the situation.”

The same day the investigation began, two of the roommates were moved to other residence halls and placed in single rooms.

“A third suite-mate, originally believed to be a bystander, was identified yesterday as an offender. We regret he was not removed from the victim’s suite before today,” Qayoumi said.

Bullying among boys easily dismissed?

Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy announces second-degree murder charges against Theodore P. Wafer, 54, of Dearborn Heights, Mich., Friday. Wafer has reportedly told police that he feared a break-in on the night Renisha McBride was shot.

Paul Sancya/AP

Prosecutors in Michigan are charging a man with second-degree murder for a Nov. 2 incident in which Renisha McBride, 19, was shot in the face after knocking on his door in Dearborn Heights, a suburb west of Detroit.

Theodore Wafer has reportedly told police that he feared a break-in when he heard sounds on his porch. Officials said Friday that the fatal shot was fired through the house’s open front door, passing through a locked screen door before striking McBride.

Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy announced the charges against Wafer Friday. He also faces charges of manslaughter and possession of a firearm during a felony. Worthy said she believes Wafer owned the weapon legally.

Earlier in the day, officials released a toxicology report showing McBride was found to have high levels of alcohol in her system, along with trace amounts of marijuana. No toxicology test was performed on Wafer, Worthy said.

When asked today whether race is an issue in the case, Worthy said, “No, it’s not relevant at all, not to our charging decision.”

Wafer, a 54-year-old homeowner, has reportedly admitted to shooting McBride in the early hours of Nov. 2 with a 12-gauge shotgun after hearing what he thought were the sounds of someone trying to break into his house. Today, Worthy said the home showed no signs of an attempt to force entry, and that according to the evidence, Wafer opened the front door himself.

Worthy said the evidence suggests McBride knocked on a locked screen door and that the shot that killed her was fired through the screen door. She also said that it doesn’t appear Wafer and McBride knew each other.

An arraignment for Wafer has been scheduled for Friday afternoon. Prosecutors expect him to turn himself in before that appearance.

In announcing the charges, Worthy also described the statute on self-defense in Michigan law.

“There is no duty to retreat when you’re in your own house. But someone who claims self-defense must have an honest and reasonable believe of imminent death” or other significant harm, she said, adding that the person would need to use force to prevent that imminent harm.

While some of the details of what happened that night haven’t been made public, The Detroit Free Press has assembled what may be a rough chronology:

“According to police, McBride’s vehicle struck a parked vehicle in Detroit more than two hours before she was shot. Police said that just before 1 a.m. Nov. 2, a witness called 911 to say a woman was speeding down the street in the area of Bramell and Majestic, hit a parked vehicle, got out of her car and left.

“She later returned to the scene, according to a second 911 call, but was gone when police arrived. That caller told police the woman appeared to be intoxicated.”

Citing sources, the newspaper says McBride was driving a car that was registered in her father’s name.

On Nov. 8, 19-year-old pop star Justin Bieber was formally charged with vandalism following a spray painting graffiti session he conducted earlier this week on an old hotel wall in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

E Online reported that Brazilian authorities conducted a three day long hearing on the Biebs’ alleged infraction during which time they heard testimony “from everyone involved, including photographers who snapped him during the act, police officers, Justin’s security guards and others.”

The judge overseeing the vandalism case against Bieber is still reviewing the evidence against the young singer; but it’s already been concluded that although Bieber won’t get arrested or face any jail time in Brazil, there will be a fine as a consequence of his actions.

It will take at least 30 days for the judge to examine all of the evidence and determine the cost of the fine.

Police in Rio de Janeiro got the call earlier this week regarding Bieber’s spray painting antics. The complaint lodged stated that Justin and his entourage were spraying graffiti in Brazil’s Joá neighborhood, and marking up a wall belonging to the former Hotel Nacional.

Originally, according to representatives of Justin Bieber, the Biebs was granted permission by authorities in Rio de Janeiro to spray paint one particular wall, just not the wall he ended up vandalizing. Bieber’s reps explained that the original wall was in too dangerous of an area, and opted for the wall of the old Hotel Nacional, which looked abandoned to them.

Bieber had an interesting stay in Rio. In addition to his vandalism charge, he was allegedly witnessed leaving a brothel in Rio, a claim he vehemently denied on Twitter.

Bieber also stormed off stage after being hit with a water bottle during a concert, and was also filmed sleeping in a now-viral YouTube video by a mysterious woman, later identified as Tatiana Neves Barbosa.

Bieber left Rio the day following the vandalism complaint came to light as he continued on with his current concert tour in South America.

Today and tomorrow, Bieber will be performing at the River Plate Stadium with singer Carly Rae Jepsen in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Second Man Charged Over Dry Ice Bombs at LAX

A second man was arrested Friday in connection with dry ice bombs planted at the main Los Angeles airport, police said.

Ground services supervisor Miguel Angel Iniguez, 41, was arrested on suspicion of possession of a destructive device near an aircraft, Los Angeles Police Department spokeswoman Sally Madera said.

Iniguez is being held in lieu of $ 500,000 bail, half the amount set for his subordinate Dicarlo Bennett, who got the same charge on Thursday.

Bennett could face up to six years in jail, though police said he set off the devices as a prank rather than anything more sinister.

He pleaded not guilty to two counts of possessing a destructive device in a public place.

Nobody was injured by the devices going off, but they led to evacuations and disrupted flights.

One of the devices that exploded was placed early Sunday evening in an employee restroom at the airport, according to police.

A second was deposited near an aircraft at the Tom Bradley International Terminal.

Both devices were made with plastic bottles, according to the Los Angeles Times.

The second device, along with a third that did not detonate, was not reported until Monday.

Musharraf charged over Bhutto murder

Breaking news

Pakistani ex-President Pervez Musharraf has been indicted on three charges over the 2007 assassination of opposition leader and former PM Benazir Bhutto.

Prosecutors said he was charged with murder, criminal conspiracy to murder and facilitation of murder.

Gen Musharraf made no public remarks at the hearing but denies the charges. The case was adjourned until 27 August.

Mrs Bhutto was killed at an election rally in the city of Rawalpindi in December 2007.

Pakistan"s Musharraf charged in Bhutto killing

(AP) — A Pakistani court on Tuesday indicted former president and army chief Pervez Musharraf on murder charges in connection with the 2007 assassination of iconic Pakistani Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto, deepening the fall of a once-powerful figure who returned to the country this year to make a political comeback.

The decision by a court in Rawalpindi marks the first time Musharraf, or any former army chief in Pakistan, has been charged with a crime.

Musharraf, who took power in a 1999 coup and stepped down from office in disgrace nearly a decade later, now faces a litany of legal problems that have in many ways broken taboos on the inviolability of the once-sacrosanct military in Pakistani society. He is currently under house arrest in connection with one of the cases against him.

The retired general has been charged with murder, conspiracy to commit murder and facilitation for murder, said prosecutor Chaudry Muhammed Azhar. He did not specify what exactly Musharraf was accused of doing but prosecutors have previously accused him of failing to provide enough protection to Bhutto.

The former army commando appeared in person during the brief morning hearing, and pleaded not guilty, said Afshan Adil, a member of Musharraf’s legal team.

“These are all fabricated cases. There is nothing solid in all these case,” she said.

Bhutto was killed in 2007 during a gun and bomb attack at a rally in the city of Rawalpindi, the sister city to the Pakistani capital, Islamabad. Prosecutors have said that Musharraf, who was president at the time, failed to properly protect her.

Bhutto is the daughter of former Prime Minister Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, who was himself executed in 1977 after being deposed in a coup. His daughter is widely respected in Pakistan for her political commitment — she was jailed multiple times — and her condemnation of militancy and support for Pakistan’s poor.

She returned to Pakistan under a deal with Musharraf allowing her to take part in upcoming elections, and his supporters point to the deal as proof that he had no objections to her return.

Her assassination set off a wave of protests across the country and helped propel her Pakistan People’s Party to office and her husband, Asif Ali Zardari, to the presidency.

The judge set August 27 as the next court date to present evidence.

Musharraf returned to Pakistan in March after nearly four years outside the country and vowed to take part in the country’s May elections. But he has little popular support in Pakistan and ever since his return has faced a litany of legal problems related to his rule.

Musharraf has repeatedly vowed that he returned to lead his supporters in the election and that he would clear his name of all charges. But many questioned why Musharraf decided to come back considering the legal problems he’d be facing and his almost non-existent popularity.

His return and legal troubles have put the military and newly elected Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in a delicate position. Pakistan has undergone three coups since the country’s inception in 1947, and the military is considered the most powerful institution.

The military’s top leadership is not believed to have supported Musharraf’s return from exile but they also would likely not want to see one of their own put behind bars or treated unfairly.

The case is also part of a strange changing of places for Sharif and Musharraf. It was Sharif who was deposed by Musharraf in 1999, and then forced into exile. But Sharif eventually returned to Pakistan, waited out five years in opposition and then led his Pakistan Muslim League-N to a resounding victory in the May 11 elections.

Sharif must tread carefully with the man who once put him in handcuffs. The new prime minister has his plate full of other problems and pushing aggressively for Musharraf’s conviction could force a confrontation with the military that Sharif would prefer to avoid.

Musharraf has been confined to his house on the outskirts of Islamabad, and was brought to court Tuesday amid tight security.

In addition to the Bhutto case, Musharraf is involved in a case related to the 2007 detention of judges and the death of a Baluch nationalist leader. The government is also pursuing a treason case against him in connection with the judges’ detention case.

Musharraf has faced threats from the Pakistani Taliban who tried to assassinate him twice while he was in office and vowed to try again if he returned.

Another Travis County, Texas Democrat Charged with DWI

Will this prosecutor remain above the law just like his boss?

Julie Wilson
Infowars.com
August 13, 2013

Travis County prosecutor Brandon Grunewald, 33, was charged with driving while intoxicated over the weekend after he rear ended another vehicle, reports KXAN.

Grunewald was traveling southbound in his 2008 Land Rover on an Austin highway Sunday afternoon when he reportedly collided with a Mini Cooper after it came to a stop.

Public affidavits reveal the officer who responded to the wreck observed Grunewald to have bloodshot watery eyes and smelled strongly of alcohol. The officer also observed Grunewald having difficulty balancing and seemed “confused.”

Grunewald declined to take a breath test and also refused a field-sobriety test. His alcohol level at the time is currently unknown.

Grunewald was booked into the Travis County Jail Sunday afternoon but was later released when he posted bond, which was set at $ 3,500. Records show he was also ordered to immediately install an ignition lock on his vehicle that prohibits drinking and driving.

KHOU reports, last March Grunewald prosecuted Charles Roberts Jr., 24, who was “chased by police and crashed into a bus stop” killing 41-year old Rondal Lynn Brooks.

“Roberts was sentenced to 25-years in prison, however Grunewald asked that he get a 34-year sentence,” reports the American-Statesman.

Grunewald has been employed with the DA’s office since August 2006 and received a yearly salary of $ 83,424.

Grunewald’s boss, Travis County District Attorney (DA) Rosemary Lehmberg, was arrested for driving while intoxicated in April when another driver reported her for “driving about a mile in the bike lane” and also for “swerving and veering into oncoming traffic.”

Police discovered an open bottle of vodka in the front seat of Lehmberg’s vehicle.

The dash cam video shows Lehmberg looking disheveled and stumbling about while the officer instructs her to complete a field-sobriety test. The DA stands with her arms crossed, appearing visibly upset as she tells officers that they are going to “take her to jail” and “ruin her career.”

Lehmberg was eventually booked into jail and because of her unwillingness to cooperate, was “restrained with handcuffs and leg irons” and forced to submit to a blood draw. Her blood alcohol level was nearly three times the legal limit, .239. She plead guilty to the charges and received a 45 day jail sentence (however only served 22 days), a $ 4,000 fine and a 180-day license suspension under a plea agreement.

Since her arrest, multiple petitions have been filed against the DA in an attempt to remove Lehmberg from office, including one by Rick Reed, who ran against her in 2008. The petition cites “16 counts of official misconduct ranging from coercion of a public servant to retaliation.”

A separate petition was filed to remove her from office “on grounds of intoxication” under which state law allows the removal of a DA on grounds of “incompetency, official misconduct and intoxication on or off duty.”

A report by My Fox Austin disclosed that even the Travis County Commissioner called for Lehmberg’s resignation, however she refused and is still holding office to this day.

In an attempt to save face and “reimburse the public,” Lehmberg announced in late June that she planned to donate the salary she earned in jail to Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD).

She earned a total of $ 13,358 during her stay in the Travis County Jail.

In regard to Lehmberg’s employee, Grunewald, she said, “It’s a first offense DWI and I don’t know what will happen until I have all the facts. I have never terminated an employee for a first offense DWI and we have had employees with first offense DWI up and down the ranks.”

However, KVUE News learned “Frank Dixon and Cynthia Bell with the Travis County DA’s office were fired for DWI offenses.” The report also revealed a victim witness counselor was fired after a DWI offense.

The DA wasted no time in defending the Travis County prosecutor in saying, “He’s a good lawyer and a good man. He told me he’s terribly sorry for what happened.”

This is yet another example of officials being held above the law, in this case most notably Democrats, since they are the political party in power serving a blue city within a red state.

This is further affirmation that political affiliations trump state law and its penalties which are seemingly put into place for the peasants, meanwhile the royals go right back to business as usual.

Mark O"Mara: "If Zimmerman Was Black, He Never Would Have Been Charged"

QUESTION: Do you think it would have been different if George Zimmerman was black? And the other part of my question is, does he fear for his safety? Have precautions been made surrounding his security?

MARK O’MARA, ZIMMERMAN ATTORNEY: I think that things would have been different if George Zimmerman was black for this reason — he never would have been charged with a crime…

What happened was, this became a focus for a civil rights event, which again is a wonderful event to have, but they decide that George Zimmerman would be the person who they were to blame and sort of use as the creation of a civil rights violation, none of which was borne out by the facts. The facts that night was not borne out that he acted in a racial way.

His history is a non-racist and you know all the anecdotes about the mentees and the children living in his home when he was young…

So the if only those who decide condemn Mr. Zimmerman as quickly and as viciously as they did would have taken just a little bit of time to find out who it was that they were condemning, it would never have happened. And it certainly wouldn’t have happened if he was black because those people he decided that they were going to make him the scapegoat would not have.
