The Obama Peace Plan Includes Permanently Dividing The City Of Jerusalem

Jerusalem - Photo by Berthold Werner

Barack Obama’s “two state” peace plan would not just permanently divide the land of Israel.  It would also permanently divide the city of Jerusalem.  It is anticipated that the “Kerry Plan”, which is expected to be revealed to the public soon, will call for a Palestinian capital in east Jerusalem without specifying the exact borders.  According to some media reports, U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry has approached Palestinian leadership with the idea of locating the Palestinian capital in the neighborhood of Beit Hanina.  Of course the details of any peace agreement will change as negotiations progress, but one thing is becoming increasingly clear – the Palestinians will never accept an undivided Jerusalem and the U.S. government is going to pressure Israel to hand part of the holy city over to them.  But if Israel gives in and accepts a “peace plan” that includes the permanent division of Jerusalem, it will end up being absolutely disastrous for Israel, for the Palestinians and for the United States.

In many ways, the Obama administration finds itself stuck between a rock and a hard place, and the status of Jerusalem is the most “burdensome stone” of all.  Obama and Kerry desperately want to cement their legacies by getting the Israelis and the Palestinians to agree to a peace plan before Obama’s term is over, but the two sides are far apart on a number of issues.

The Palestinians have convinced Obama and Kerry that they will never, ever accept a deal that does not include a Palestinian capital in east Jerusalem, so Obama and Kerry have decided that their best bet is to try to get the Israelis to cave in on their demand for an undivided holy city.

It is now an open secret that the Kerry Plan is going to call for a Palestinian capital in east Jerusalem.  The following comes from a recent article by Thomas Friedman of the New York Times

The “Kerry Plan,” likely to be unveiled soon, is expected to call for an end to the conflict and all claims, following a phased Israeli withdrawal from the West Bank (based on the 1967 lines), with unprecedented security arrangements in the strategic Jordan Valley. The Israeli withdrawal will not include certain settlement blocs, but Israel will compensate the Palestinians for them with Israeli territory. It will call for the Palestinians to have a capital in Arab East Jerusalem and for Palestinians to recognize Israel as the nation state of the Jewish people.

And the Palestinians clearly believe that the Kerry Plan will give them a capital in east Jerusalem.  What Palestinian officials are concerned about now is that it will be too small

Abbas said in his speech late Thursday that he would not compromise on a demand for a Palestinian capital in east Jerusalem.

Earlier Thursday, Abbas’ aide Mohammed Ishtayeh said he believes the Kerry proposal will only refer to such a capital “in Jerusalem,” raising fears the Palestinians will be asked to make do with a small part of the eastern sector.

And as I mentioned above, Kerry appears to be pushing for Beit Hanina to be the capital of the Palestinians.  The following is an excerpt from a recent article in the Guardian

Reported proposals for a Palestinian capital in the east Jerusalem suburb of Beit Hanina, Israel’s retention of 10 West Bank settlement blocs, permanent control of the Jordan valley and the demand to recognise Israel as a Jewish homeland do not add up to a package that would likely be acceptable to even the most pliable Palestinian leader: thus the claim that President Mahmoud Abbas “exploded” when told of it by Kerry in Paris last weekend.

Most people don’t realize this, but this has actually been in the works for a very long time.  In another article, I detailed how Obama has been promising east Jerusalem to the Palestinians since at least 2009.

Obama is always careful with his words regarding Jerusalem in public speeches, but what happens in private appears to be another matter entirely.

And very few people know this, but Barack Obama’s brother is actually extremely anti-Israel.  The following is from a recent article by Walid Shoebat and Ben Barrack

While in Sanaa, Yemein in 2010, President Barack Obama’s brother Malik Obama was at an event billed as the Orphans Development Fund (ODF) Conference. It’s quite the ironic title considering a group photo Malik is in that he has posted to his website. In the photo, he can be seen wearing a Hamas scarf (keffiyeh) that bears a well-known Palestinian slogan – ‘Jerusalem is ours – WE ARE COMING!’ It also includes a map of Palestine that says, ‘From the River to the Sea!’ In other words, Malik is saying, THERE IS NO ISRAEL.

Here is that photo…

Malik Obama

And the sentiments expressed by Malik Obama truly represent the beliefs of the Palestinian authorities.

They are fully convinced that the entire land “from the river to the sea” belongs to them, and that is why they will never recognize that Israel is a Jewish state.

In fact, the foreign minister for the Palestinian Authority reiterated this just the other day

The foreign minister for the Palestinian Authority says Palestinians will “never accept under any circumstances” the idea that Israel is a Jewish state, negating the 3,000 year Jewish connection with the Holy Land.

Foreign Minister Riad Malki, in an interview with the London-based Arabic newspaper Asharq Al-Awsat characterized the Israeli government demand that the Palestinians recognize Israel as a Jewish state as the most intractable issue facing the current round of peace talks sponsored by Secretary of State John Kerry.

“This is a sharply contentious issue. It would be dangerous to recognize this because this would mean our acceptance of the dissolution of our own history and ties and our historic right to Palestine,” Malki said.

Originally, the U.S. government was trying to get the Palestinians to agree to recognize Israel’s right to exist, but now the State Department has even backed down on this

The United States believes there is no need for the Palestinian Authority (PA) to recognize Israel as a Jewish state as part of a peace agreement, State Department Spokeswoman Jen Psaki said Saturday.

Psaki, who spoke to the PA-based Arabic-language Al-Quds newspaper, said, “The American position is clear, Israel is a Jewish state. However, we do not see a need that both sides recognize this position as part of the final agreement.”

Unbelievable.

What a “peace plan” – Israel is supposed to permanently divide the holy land and permanently divide the city of Jerusalem, and in return all they are going to get is a vague promise of peace that could be broken at any time.  The Palestinians are not even going to be required to recognize that Israel has a right to exist.

And let there be no doubt – the Palestinians do not plan to ever have lasting peace with Israel.

Sheikh Ikrema Sabri, a very high-ranking Muslim cleric in Jerusalem, said the following just the other day

“We know the confrontation with Jews and Zionism will not end tomorrow. This is going to be a long confrontation and I have no doubt that Muslims will triumph in the end.”

These are not people that want peace.  Just recently, Hamas unveiled a giant statue of a rocket aimed at Israel, and it runs paramilitary camps for teens that train them “to follow in the footsteps of the suicide martyrs“.

In fact, during a graduation ceremony for those camps, Hamas Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh said the following

“Love death for the sake of Allah as much as our enemies love life”

And Fathi Hamad, the Interior Minister for Hamas, made it very clear at that same event who those “enemies” actually are

“This generation, Allah willing, will vanquish Israel,” said Hamas Interior Minister Fathi Hammad.

“Let me congratulate you on your future victory,” Hammad continued, “and on the annihilation of Israel. As I said yesterday, they only have eight years left.”

Sadly, the young people that are being indoctrinated at these camps are totally buying into the propaganda

Omar Dawabha, an eleventh-grader who took part in the training, was quoted on the website of Hamas’s interior ministry saying that “he learned how to safeguard our rights and principles.” Another student, Mohammed Abu Nar, addressed the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem at the graduation ceremony.

“We are the pioneers of liberation, we are coming to purify you from the Zionists,” he said.

Anyone that believes that there will be lasting peace in the Middle East in such an environment is just being delusional.

Remember, Hamas actually controls Gaza and they have very strong support in the West Bank as well.

In a previous article, I detailed how peace with Israel is absolutely antithetical to everything that Hamas stands for.  Just consider a few quotes from the Hamas Charter

-”Israel will exist and will continue to exist until Islam will obliterate it, just as it obliterated others before it.”

-”The land of Palestine is an Islamic Waqf [Holy Possession] consecrated for future Muslim generations until Judgment Day. No one can renounce it or any part, or abandon it or any part of it.”

-”The time will not come until Muslims will fight the Jews [and kill them]; until the Jews hide behind rocks and trees, which will cry: Oh Muslim! There is a Jew hiding behind me, come on and kill him!”

But Israelis are always told that if they will just give in to the Palestinians a little bit more that it will bring lasting peace.

Unfortunately, as Caroline Glick has noted, those promises never seem to come to fruition…

In 1993 we were told that the Palestinians as a whole would embrace peace once Israel recognized the PLO and allowed it to set up an autonomous government in Judea, Samaria and Gaza. In the event, the Palestinians became more violent and radicalized and anti-Jewish under PLO rule, until in 2006 they elected Hamas to lead them.

In 2005 we were told that once Israel vacated Gaza, the Gazans would abandon their war against Israel and use their energies to transform Gaza into a Middle Eastern Singapore. Instead they transformed it into a Middle Eastern Afghanistan.

In 2007, after Hamas ousted the PLO from Gaza, we were told that the international community would pour so much money into the PLO-run PA in Judea and Samaria that the Gazans would decide that they want the PLO back. Instead, Hamas has grown more popular in Judea and Samaria.

But despite everything that has happened in the past, and despite all of the public declarations from top Palestinian officials about how they intend to annihilate Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu still intends to make a “historic” peace deal with them

A Palestinian peace deal could open up economic growth across the Middle East, Binyamin Netanyahu told US supporters on Tuesday, but is still held back by security concerns and a lack of recognition of Israel as a Jewish state.

In the most upbeat of recent comments during his trip to Washington, the Israeli prime minister highlighted the potential regional benefits of the US-led peace process, even while making it clear he believed significant hurdles remain.“I am prepared to make a historic peace with our Palestinian leaders,” he told the American Israel Public Affairs Committee’s annual conference in Washington.

So what do you think the end result will be?

What do you think will happen to Israel?

What do you think will happen to the Palestinians?

What do you think will happen to America?

Please feel free to share your thoughts by posting a comment below…

On February 25 at 5:59 a.m., the Monterey County Sheriff’s Department, Salinas Police Department and the FBI orchestrated the simultaneous arrests of six King City police officers. Included in the apprehensions for corruption charges were former Police Chief Nick Baldiviez, acting Police Chief Bruce Miller and his civilian brother Brian Miller.

Targeting Hispanic residents, Sgt. Bobby Carrillo allegedly received a free vehicle for every 10-15 cars he had impounded. Monterey County District Attorney Dean Flippo believes Sgt. Carrillo received at least five vehicles and gave one to acting Police Chief Bruce Miller, who was Carrillo’s captain at the time.

At a press conference, District Attorney Flippo stated, “The victims were economically disadvantaged persons of Hispanic descent who were targeted by having their vehicles impounded, towed and stored by Miller’s Towing.”

The owner of Miller’s Towing, Brian Miller, is the brother of acting Police Chief Bruce Miller. After forced to wait 30 days, the owners of the confiscated vehicles found themselves unable to pay the exorbitant impound fees and their cars turned over to California’s King City police officers.

Brian Miller reportedly bribed his brother, acting chief Bruce Miller, with an impounded Nissan Sentra.

Because the victims were disadvantaged Latino residents, prosecutor Steve Somers considered charging the officers with hate crimes. Somers concluded the victims had instead been targeted because they had been socioeconomically vulnerable, not out of racial discrimination.

“While I hope this is an isolated incident, I fear it is not,” admitted State Senator Bill Monning. “There continues to be situations throughout the state where the immigrant workforce is subjugated to tyranny of those abusing their authority.”

Former Police Chief Baldiviez has been charged with embezzlement by a public officer for transferring ownership of a 2001 Ford Crown Victoria to Officer Mario Mottu, Sr. Although the city manager had authorized Baldiviez to give the vehicle to the King City Police Explorers, Baldiviez handed the title over to Mottu instead.

In 2010, Police Chief Baldiviez was placed on administrative leave after officers claimed he had arrived intoxicated at multiple crime scenes. Listed as a defendant in a lawsuit against the King City Police Department, Baldiviez has also been accused of authorizing excessive force against the Madriz family during an April 2012 raid, based on their ethnicity. As the District Attorney’s Office began investigating his department, Baldiviez retired in September 2013 leaving Miller as acting chief.

Unrelated to the impound scheme, Sgt. Mark Baker has been charged with making criminal threats against a local resident named Leon Rosalio Infante.

Officer Jaime Andrade has been charged with possession of an assault weapon and illegal storage of a firearm. While in possession of a semiautomatic Colt AR-15, Andrade allegedly left the gun at his stepson’s residence where “a child was likely to gain access to it.”

All six police officers have made bail and been placed on paid administrative leave.

According to Chief Assistant District Attorney Terry Spitz, the D.A.’s office has already dismissed at least 3 criminal cases due to the lack of credibility of these accused cops. Each case associated with them is now under review determining whether or not to proceed without the officers’ testimonies.

During the press conference, District Attorney Flippo claimed the FBI’s involvement in the arrests was unrelated to the investigation of bank robbery cash that went missing after recovered by the King City Police Department last year.

“I was aware of the investigations,” admitted acting Police Chief Miller, “but I didn’t know that I would become a suspect.”

King City resident Vivian Villa stated, “I’m not at all surprised by the arrests, I’m just surprised there weren’t more charges.”

Ukrainian Protesters End Occupation of Kiev’s City Hall

KIEV, Ukraine — Ending their occupation of City Hall in Kiev, Ukrainian protesters withdrew from the large granite building on Sunday — but then quickly threatened to take it back if the authorities did not immediately fulfill a pledge to drop all criminal charges against political activists.

The departure from the building in the capital after more than two months eased tensions — temporarily, at least — in the standoff between protesters and President Viktor F. Yanukovych, who set off the country’s tumultuous political crisis in November by spurning a trade deal with the European Union and tilting Ukraine, a former Soviet republic of 46 million people, toward Russia instead.

Video: Violent Protests in UkraineJAN. 22, 2014

In a statement from Brussels, Catherine Ashton, the European Union’s foreign policy chief, welcomed the evacuation of City Hall as evidence that, after weeks of demands and counterdemands by each side, “several important steps have been undertaken during the last few days to de-escalate the situation in Ukraine, thus contributing to a Ukrainian way from the current political crisis.”

Protesters removed a barricade Sunday in Kiev. Sergey Dolzhenko/European Pressphoto Agency

At the same time, however, tens of thousands of people poured into Independence Square in Kiev on Sunday to join a boisterous but peaceful antigovernment rally that featured speeches denouncing Mr. Yanukovych’s “bandit regime” and calling for his swift resignation.

How far both sides were willing to go toward a more enduring truce or even a settlement might become clearer on Tuesday, when Parliament reconvenes and Mr. Yanukovych might present a new candidate for prime minister to fill a post vacant since the last prime minister resigned, in January.

Arseniy P. Yatsenyuk, an opposition leader who last month rejected an offer from Mr. Yanukovych to take the post, said at the rally on Sunday that the roughly 2,000 criminal cases against protesters must be closed.

In an interview posted on the website of the Ukrainian weekly Dzerkalo Tyzhnia, Yulia V. Tymoshenko, a former prime minister and opposition leader jailed after Mr. Yanukovych defeated her in the 2010 election, said that she was willing to take part in negotiations to end the crisis but added that “the only topic” up for discussion was the manner of the president’s resignation, including “guarantees for the protection of his family.”

Barricades erected around Independence Square to fend off a possible attack by the riot police remained in place on Sunday, guarded by masked young men carrying homemade shields and wooden clubs. Located inside an area of central Kiev blocked off by barriers, City Hall, although no longer crammed with protesters, remained beyond the reach of the authorities.

But in a sign that neither side wants to return to the violent clashes that killed at least three protesters last month, the police pulled back from barricades on Hrushevsky Street, the soot-smeared scene of the worst violence, and protesters cleared a narrow passageway for vehicles to pass through tangled mounds of garbage, rubber tires, sandbags and ice. A line of masked men in helmets, however, blocked all traffic and pedestrians.

Many of the protesters who left City Hall on Sunday said they disagreed with the decision to vacate the building. The decision had been made by opposition leaders as part of an amnesty deal with the authorities aimed at defusing a crisis that a former Ukrainian president, Leonid M. Kravchuk, said last month had pushed the country to “the brink of civil war.” The government has agreed to drop all criminal charges against protesters, more than 200 of whom were freed from detention on Friday, although they remain under investigation.

Bogdan Burtnuk, an activist from western Ukraine who joined the occupation of City Hall in December, said he thought it was a mistake to leave before “they release and clear all our hostages,” meaning that the freed detainees possibly still faced criminal charges. The agreement to vacate the building was strongly supported by Svoboda, a nationalist political party that is at odds with more hard-line forces like Right Sector, a coalition of militant groups that has said that Mr. Yanukovych’s resignation is a condition for any political settlement.

The evacuation of the building was monitored by the Swiss ambassador in Kiev; Switzerland holds the rotating presidency of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, a Vienna-based organization that is working to defuse tensions in Ukraine.

Switzerland’s foreign minister, Didier Burkhalter, said in a statement from Bern that the decision to vacate the building — which was covered in graffiti declaring it the “headquarters of the revolution” — was a “positive development,” and he urged “all sides to remain fully engaged in efforts to reach necessary compromises in a broad and inclusive political dialogue.”

But deep suspicion remained on both sides. Scores of young men in camouflage fatigues who pulled out of City Hall early Sunday later returned to the building, gathering in a militarylike formation outside and vowing to retake it if Ukraine’s prosecutor general did not sign a formal order lifting all charges.

“We do not trust them,” said the group’s commander, who identified himself only as Andriy.

Dallas City Council Expands Ban On First Amendment

Newly expanded ordinance outlaws any activity the city claims to be “distracting to motorists”

Kit Daniels
Infowars.com
January 24, 2014

The Dallas, Texas City Council recently expanded an existing ordinance which bans anyone carrying a sign within 75 feet of a freeway to also prohibit anyone from peacefully assembling on or near service roads, bridges and overpasses, including those not holding signs and individuals the city considers to be dressed provocatively.

Protest Ordinance

Passed by the council at their latest meeting, the expanded ordinance gives police and code enforcement officers free reign to ticket or arrest anyone that they deem to be “distracting motorists,” a term vague enough for the government to enforce in almost any situation without an actual complaint.

“Rather than prohibit the carrying of signs that distract motorists within 75 feet of the designated highways, the proposed amendment would prohibit all conduct intended to distract motorists by individuals standing within the lateral curb line of the highways, including adjoining service or frontage roads as well as on bridges or overpasses over the highways,” the proposal reads.

The ban includes individuals who are not holding signs and those who are “wearing any costume, clothing, attire or accessory intended to attract or seek the attention of the public,” provisions which are so broad, they would seemingly apply to those wearing swimsuits while advertising a charity car wash and even those wearing the latest in fashion trends.

Out of Dallas’s 14 city council members, four voted against the measure, including one member who blasted the ordinance as violating the First Amendment, according to the Dallas News.

The council member, Philip Kingston, also added that the ordinance opens the city up to additional lawsuits.

However, the Chair of the Transportation and Trinity River Project Committee, Vonciel Jones Jill, supported the proposal and said that under the old ordinance, officers did not have authority to regulate the conduct of citizens assembled in public.

“No one is attempting to control speech,” she said. “That is not the point of the ordinance.”

“The point is to regulate conduct.”

Jill would be wise to actually read the First Amendment, because it recognizes the right of the people to assemble peacefully, not just the right to free speech.

Officials will no doubt use this ordinance to shut down any sort of gathering that challenges their authority and the status quo by hiding their political suppression under the guise of “driver safety.”

Back in November, the Dallas Police Dept. attempted to stop Alex Jones and the Infowars crew from protesting outside the Federal Reserve building.

A spokesperson for the police told the crowd that by carrying signs and handing out flyers in public, they were violating two city ordinances.

“Within 75 feet of a freeway or service road, according to the Dallas city ordinance, you may not hold a sign,” she said, adding that handing out leaflets to drivers was also violating city code.

These officials are simply using city ordinances to deceptively violate basic human freedoms recognized by the Bill of Rights.

Texas ‘honor killer’ Yaser Said could be hiding in plain sight as NYC cabbie PI Bill Warner Says as FBI New York City Field Office To Assist In Search.

FOX NEWS…The Egyptian-born cab driver suspected in the 2008 “honor killing” of his two daughters in Texas because they were dating non-Muslim boys may be working at his old trade in New York, according to a private investigator who has tracked him. Yaser Said fled his Dallas-area home after allegedly shooting daughters Amina, 18, and Sarah Said, 17, on New Year’s Day in 2008 and is now on the FBI’s list of most-wanted fugitives. Although he took his Egyptian passport and $ 9,000 when he bolted, Bill Warner, a private detective who has worked for Said’s sister-in-law, believes he never made it out of the country. With family ties to New York and a large community of his countrymen to blend into, Warner says the odds are good the suspected killer is behind the wheel of a car for hire in the Big Apple.  “It’s all he knows and I wouldn’t be surprised one bit if he’s there working as a taxi driver,” Bill Warner, who has worked on and off tracking Said, told FoxNews.com. “He could blend in at a metropolis like New York.”

Gingrich to Reich: Every City in Poverty is Run by Democrats

Former Republican House Speaker Newt Gingrich and former Clinton administration Labor Secretary Robert Reich debated the causes of poverty in America on Sunday, with each blaming the other’s political party for the problem.

Appearing as a panelist on ABC’s “This Week,” Gingrich noted that the GOP should “rethink some of its indifference to the very poor.” He also said Democrats should ask themselves after 50 years of the war on poverty if government isn’t fixing the problem.

Panelist Reich countered that President Lyndon Johnson’s War on Poverty was successful for a time.

“What has happened, however, over the last 30 years is that much of the, much of the ardor, much of the concern, much of the, what propelled that war on poverty has dissipated,” Reich said.

“I think it has something to do, perhaps, with the intransigence of the Speaker’s party,” Reich continued, “because every time there was a jobs bill, every time there was an effort to expand a low income housing, every time there was an effort to provide better opportunities for young people. We’re talking about equal opportunity.”

“This is baloney,” Gingrich interrupted. “Every major city which is a center of poverty is run by Democrats. Every major city. Their policies have failed …”

Reich went on to note that long-time New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg is not a Democrat. (Bloomberg first served as a moderate Republican, but later became an independent.)

“Newt, I am surprised you are not taking responsibility here,” Reich said.

City Takes Veteran To Trial For Raising Backyard Chickens

A Northwood, Iowa man charged with violating a city ordinance that bans raising chickens within city limits is set to face trial late next week.

Leo Hendrick, war veteran, father and owner of Spartan Arms, moved his family to Northwood five years ago in hopes to live a more healthy and self-sufficient life. Through hunting, gardening and raising small animals like chickens and rabbits, Hendrick has become almost completely food independent.

Flag“We were sick of corporate farming, GMOs and pesticides,” Hendrick told Storyleak. “The price of groceries just keeps going up too so this is really the only way me and my family can survive.”

Unfortunately for Hendrick, once city council learned of his family’s chickens, a Worth County sheriff’s deputy arrived at his home late August to present a letter demanding he remove all animals from his property within 10 days.

“It really wasn’t a surprise. I don’t blame the sheriff’s department though,” Hendrick said. “There has never been a citizen complaint at all about my chickens or my gardens. It just comes down to the city government complaining about it.”

After receiving the letter, Hendrick immediately requested to speak to the Northwood City Council while submitting a possible amended ordinance to keep the family chickens. With written support from more than a dozen neighbors, Hendrick went before the city council, only to have his request denied.

“They actually told me that I just needed to ‘fit into society’ and comply,” Hendrick said. “The mayor even told me that government intruding into lives like this was okay and needed, which I didn’t agree with.”

COPP1234Only a few days later, Hendrick received a citation in the mail informing him that he was in violation of Northwood City Code Section 55.05, which states, “It is unlawful for a person to keep livestock within the city except by written consent of the council or except in compliance with the city’s zoning regulations.”

Hendrick quickly returned the citation to the city, opting to plead not guilty.

“This is how you do it. This is how you are supposed to fight bad laws and bad ordinances,” Hendrick said.

With the trial set for Dec. 13, Hendrick soon learned that the judge had banned him from bringing up any significant points during his trial, including the benefits of homegrown food, other cities that allow residents to raise chickens and the fact that few people agree with the ordinance, showing a clear attempt by the city to stop any juror from nullifying the case.

“They had a whole list of things that I couldn’t talk about. I was pretty upset when the judge upheld all of that,” Hendrick said. “I felt that the judge and the prosecutor were both working against me.”

Hendrick will be represented by a court appointed lawyer for the 9 a.m. hearing. If convicted, he could face up to 30 days in jail and a $ 600 fine.
