Attempt is made to arrest the Queen: Notification from the Sheriff’s Office of the Rome branch of The International Common Law Court of Justice (ICLCJ)

Today, two duly appointed sheriffs of our Office attempted to enforce the standing Citizen Arrest Warrant (ICLCJ Court Order No. 02252013-004, Dated 4 March, 2013) against Elizabeth Windsor aka Queen Elizabeth II during her presence in Rome, and bring her into custody as a convicted felon and a fugitive from justice.

Their report is filed with our Office, and reads as follows:

“I, Domingo Santori, accompanied by Carlo Freschi, attempted to apprehend Elizabeth Windsor and place her under arrest as a convicted criminal, in accordance with the Brussels Court Order of March 4, 2013.

“At about 11:50 am today Rome time we approached the reported site of her meeting with President Napolitano at the Presidential Palace in Rome and discovered from a Palace official that the meeting had been moved to an undisclosed location. The lack of any security at the Palace that day seemed to confirm his statement. We then intended to apprehend Windsor later when she met with Pope Francis at the Domus Sanctae Marthae near to the Vatican. .

“Upon reaching the Domus at 1:05 pm, we were met by a sizable security force consisting of members of the National Police but no members of Vatican Security, which was highly unusual. It is our impression that the National Police knew of our intention and were waiting for us.

“We presented the Arrest Warrant to the Captain in charge of the National Police and informed him of our intent to enforce the Court Order and asked for his assistance in this legal procedure. The Captain would not agree to do so and refused to identify himself. He told us we would be placed under arrest if we tried to perform the arrest or “threaten the Pope” in any way. Several policemen then seized our video camera and roughly escorted us from the area. Our camera was not returned to us. We have lodged a formal complaint with the National Police.

“It is clear to us that the Italian government is actively colluding in protecting the convicted criminal Elizabeth Windsor. We recommend that greater force be employed by us in the future and that we rely on better intelligence on the movements of those to be arrested or served. We also ask the Court to issue a formal note of protest to the Italian government for its actions today and that the Court attempt to deputize local police forces to help us.

“On a final note of interest, we were told by one of the policemen at the Domus who assaulted us that ‘You guys are just wasting your time anyway, Il Papa (the Pope) isn’t even in there.’ We are not convinced that the alleged meetings between Elizabeth Windsor and the Pope and the President actually took place in the manner described in the world media. The absence of any Vatican Security at the Domus that day was noticeable and unusual, since it is considered Vatican property.

“We have also noted the cover story being circulated in the world media today that Pope Francis met with Elizabeth Windsor at the Vatican. We know this to be false and that their actual meeting occurred in an undisclosed location after they initially met at the Domus, which is the so-called ‘Pope’s’ private residence.”

I did get in, however, to the site, - http://iclcj.com/?page_id=2 - and from what I see there, this statement is all that would be presented. Other sites are posting a rather mob-rule looking picture of the Queen, and I simply am not going to post it until I"m shown that iclcj is likely to have posted it themselves. We have enough problems on the planet without becoming a mob that goes after people. There are going to be plenty of situations arising like this, and I think it behooves us to keep the lid on this kind of behavior. ~J]

Crimea"s Deputy Prime Minister Made A Troubling Prediction About What Happens Now

Russian media is reporting that 93% of voters on the Ukrainian peninsula of Crimea have voted to secede to Russia.

The big question, now that Russia has effectively annexed Crimea (even though the international community does not recognize the move), is what happens next.

Here’s what Crimea’s pro-Russian deputy prime minister told Richard Engel of NBC News:

Currently, the major concern of the ongoing Ukraine crisis is that pro-Russian special forces and other provocateurs will foment unrest in Ukraine’s east and south, which have sizable ethnic Russian populations, and Russia will subsequently enter those areas under the pretext of protecting ethnic Russians.

The Kremlin used the same argument for its low-key invasion of Crimea.

In a phone call with German Chancellor Angel Merkel, Russian President Vladimir Putin “expressed concern over tensions in eastern and south-eastern parts of Ukraine” while pro-Russian demonstrators in the eastern city of Donetsk smashed their way into public buildings and burned Ukrainian-language books.

Putin claimed that unrest is being instigated by radical groups in connection with the new government in Kiev.

In this context, Ukrainians fear a full-on Russian invasion. A more likely reality in the short-to-medium term may be a slow subversion of order by pro-Russian groups in the eastern part of the country.

The optimistic view is that the Russians will back off after capturing Crimea and accept Kiev’s new government. But all signs currently point the opposite direction.

“It is Russia’s military movements and escalatory steps that are raising the greatest concern,” a senior U.S. State Department official told Reuters on Sunday.

In any case, the Ukrainian soldiers in Crimea guarding their bases are getting very uneasy as the Russians continue to surround them after the referendum.

On the troops: “Do they have to leave?” asks .@RichardEngel about Ukrainian military. “Yes,” says Crimea Deputy PM.

Arizona Governor Office Denies Having Made Decision To Veto Anti-Gay Bill

The office of Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer (R) denied an NBC News report that she is likely to veto a controversial bill that would allow businesses to refuse services to gay and lesbian customers.

“Governor Brewer hasn’t yet made a decision,” a Brewer spokesperson said in an email to Business Insider Tuesday. ”The Senate transmitted its bill to our office yesterday while the Governor was in DC. When she returns, she will take the time necessary to thoroughly review and evaluate the legislation before taking action.”

One person close to the governor told NBC that Brewer does not “want to take any actions that could jeopardize the economic momentum” in Arizona. The report also cited longtime Brewer political adviser Chuck Coughlin. Several businesses, including Marriott and Apple, have reached out to Brewer in recent days and urged her to veto the bill.

In recent days, amid a media firestorm over the bill, numerous voices in and outside Arizona had urged Brewer to veto the bill — including both of Arizona’s Republican senators, John McCain and Jeff Flake. Three Republican state lawmakers who voted for the bill last week also sent a letter to Brewer urging her to veto the bill to prevent potential boycotts.

Brewer has until Friday to sign the bill into law or veto it. She also has the option to do nothing, in which case the bill would still become law. In Washington on Monday for National Governors Association meetings, Brewer told CNN only that she would “do the right thing for Arizona.”

Overemphasis on “Climate Change” Has Made California’s Water Crisis Worse

President Barack Obama offered the desperate farmers and farmworkers of the drought-stricken Central Valley a desultory relief package last week: $ 1 billion for a “climate resilience fund,” plus “summer meals” and various other kinds of aid. For a president who boasts of his willingness to use executive action, it was a pathetic display of sophistry, full of mumbles about how water management is not a “zero-sum game”–though in this case, it is.

As the Investor’s Business Daily and countless others have noted, water management in California is a trade-off between the needs of farmers and the demands of the environmental movement, which has embraced the delta smelt, an obscure endangered species in the Sacramento-San Joaquin River delta. The Democrats, and Obama, have supported the environmentalists over the farmers–and the subsequent flushing of California’s reservoirs.

It may be true that the delta smelt is a species on which the whole regional ecosystem depends, and that its disappearance could have a negative effect on fishing, among other impacts. But that calls for wise management involving all stakeholders–not the blunt instrument of the federal courts, which utopian environmental activists have used precisely because they do not want to have to face the real challenges of water conservation.

(CNN) — U.N. mediator Lakhdar Brahimi said Saturday that a second round of talks in Geneva, Switzerland, aimed at ending the crisis in Syria had come to an end with little progress made.

The opposition and the government have agreed to an agenda for a third round of talks but they have not agreed on how to tackle it, he said.

Brahimi apologized to the Syrian people, saying he was “very, very sorry” that despite two rounds of talks ” we haven’t done very much.”

The key sticking point is that the Syrian government wants to talk about tackling terrorism, while the opposition wants to discuss forming a transitional governing body.

Brahimi said he had suggested starting the next round of talks with one day of discussion on each issue — but that the government had thrown a wrench in the works.

“Unfortunately the government has refused, which raises the suspicion of the opposition that in fact the government doesn’t want to discuss the (transitional governing body) at all,” he said.

Brahimi said such intransigence was “not good for the process,” or for Syria.

Negotiators from both sides should go back to their leaders and reflect on a way forward, he said. “Do they want this process to take place or not?” he said.

The snail-paced peace talks, which started last month with Brahimi serving as an intermediary between the two delegations sitting in the same room, have failed to produce an agreement on a first step for resolving a conflict that has dragged on for nearly three years.

It has killed well over 100,000 people and caused millions to flee their homes.
