VIDEO: Boeing To End Pension Plans For Non-union Employees









Boeing Company said on Thursday it will end pension plans for 68,000 non-union employees, including its chief executive. Boeing said it expects to take $110 million non-cash charge in the first quarter for the pension change. Under the latest plan, non-union workers including managers and executives will keep what they have earned in their pensions through December 31, 2015, and then switch to a new defined-contribution retirement plan, Boeing said.

VIDEO: Madonna To Introduce Pussy Riot Duo At U.S. Amnesty Concert







Pop icon Madonna said Wednesday she will introduce to the stage two formerly jailed members of the Russian punk band Pussy Riot when they appear at an Amnesty International concert in New York next week, hailing the pair as “fellow freedom fighters.” Maria Alyokhina, 25, and Nadezhda Tolokonnikova, 24, will speak at the concert organized by the human rights group on February 5 during their first trip to New York since being granted amnesty in December by Russian President Vladimir Putin. They became international symbols for human rights campaigners after being jailed in Russia for nearly two years for performing an anti-Putin song in a church.

“The Hunger Games: Catching Fire” continued to light up the box office through the Thanksgiving holiday weekend, collecting $110 million over five days to surpass a hefty opening for Disney’s new animated film “Frozen,” and bringing its 10-day to nearly $300 million. According to studio estimates compiled by Reuters,”Frozen,” which critics lavishly praised, recorded ticket sales of $93 million at U.S. and Canadian theaters for the five-day holiday period that began on Wednesday.
