Substitute teacher brainwashes students with conspiracy theories

Imagine if your daughter or son came home from high school and said a teacher told them the terrorists who attacked our country on September 11, 2001 were not Muslim extremists.

That’s exactly what happened on Jan. 16, 2013 at Grosse Pointe North High School, outside Detroit, Mich., according to The Daily Caller.

Substitute teacher Jason Glicker led class that day, preaching to public school students his version of the Iran-Contra Affair, Pearl Harbor attacks, Jonestown Massacre, MKUltra and Operation Gladio.

One brazen student filmed Glicker, as he took questions from high school students in the class, bathing in the attention they gave him.

As Glicker continued into the nitty gritty of world politics, he unleashed a few reasons why he believed many conspiracy theories are reasonable truths.

The 9/11 hijackers were not Muslim extremists, Glicker explained, because Muslims abstain from drugs and do not date American women, which he said the terrorists were involved in prior to the attack.

His appalling comments evoked chuckles from a few students.

Glicker continued to, pressed by students, some gullible enough to believe anything a person of authority like a teacher would share.

School officials have not disclosed details about what class he was leading or why the regular teacher was not working.

School Teacher Knocks Out 12-Year-Old Student Over A Joke About A Football Team

Articles upon Articles – by Z-rowe

A 7th grader from Beaumont, TX was knocked out by an assistant teacher from his math class last week.

According to 12-year-old Reginald Wells, the teacher blindsided him with a punch to the face after he made a joke about his teacher’s favorite football team, “The last person’s voice I heard was some girl saying that I should call my mom, and then he like hit me, and I blacked out.” Reginald told 12 News.

The boy says the teacher first hit him in the shoulder, “and I looked at him like ‘what the heck?’’ And then Reginald says he pushed the teacher’s shoulder, and that’s when the teacher hit him with the knock out punch. Reginald, who weighs only 80 pounds, fell straight to the ground.

“The left side of my face was numb…my lip hurt…my head was hurt, like it had been shaken.” Says Reginald. The boy’s mother was briefed by the school’s principal about the incident…

“(The principal) said Reginald was punched, in the shoulder, and then hit two times and uppercut, and then slid across the floor. It weighed heavy on my heart, because I’ve never put my hands on my son.”

The most disturbing part of this story? The teacher was not even arrested. He was thrown out of the school and fired on the spot, but the teacher was not arrested. Reginald’s mother was shocked, “For you to just let a teacher do that to him and just walk off, he’s fired and walks off, I can’t accept that.”

According to Reginald, the teacher told him that he was having a “bad day” before school officials escorted him out. He did not apologize for knocking the boy out, though. The incident is currently being investigated by officials down in Beaumont.

Unbelievable. We all have bad days, but you can’t just knock out some 12-year-old who insulted your favorite football team. You’re supposed to go home and let all your anger out on a throw pillow.

Teacher Sentenced for Spoon-Feeding His Semen to Blindfolded Elementary School Children

You’ve prepped your kids for stranger danger, school shootings, and the potential for “bad touching”, but nothing prepares you for this.

You’ve prepped your kids for stranger danger, school shootings, and the potential for “bad touching”.  You believe you have raised a child who is street-wise and who will come to you with concerns. But as a parent, how could you conceive of a way to prep your child for this?  Just when you thought it was safe to send your kids to school, this disturbing report surfaces about a Los Angelos school teacher who blindfolded his students and spoon fed them.

It gets worse. Guess what was on the spoon? HIS SEMEN.

30 children at Miramonte Elementary School were photographed, blindfolded and being fed. A sharp-eyed technician who was developing the photos found the image alarming enough that he contacted police. An investigation ensued and the horrifying truth behind the photographs came out.

Sheriff’s Lt. Carlos Marquez of the Special Victims Bureau said it was determined the children were given semen on a spoon or on a cookie. A blue plastic spoon and container found in trash in Berndt’s classroom tested positive for semen, the sheriff’s statement said.  Authorities are recommending the children be tested for sexually transmitted diseases.  Some of the children’s mouths and faces had large, live Madagascar-type cockroaches on them, according to the statement. The incidents occurred during school hours but not all the children were students of Berndt, Marquez said.  None of the alleged victims told anyone about the incidents and photos, Marquez said. (source)

The teacher, Mark Berndt, was arrested last January and held on 2.3 million dollars bail. He has pleaded no contest to 23 charges of molestation.

Mark Berndt, 63, was a teacher at the school for 30 years and is to be sentenced to 25 years in prison. Miramonte Elementary serves a poor, predominately Hispanic neighborhood, more than half of its approximately 1,400 students are still learning English. Berndt photographed the children he blindfolded and fed them his semen on a spoon or cookies topped with semen, Berndt told the children they were playing “tasting games”. Despite the multiple complaints filed against Berndt while he was a teacher, it was not the school who brought this incident to light, instead a photo technician at drug store saw dozens of photos of blindfolded school children so he called local authorities.  (source)

The traumatized young victims are undergoing therapy.  Some of them have developed, not surprisingly, eating disorders. A report in the UK Daily Mail said:

Before Berndt was sentenced, a parade of sobbing mothers denounced him, saying he had ruined their lives and the lives of their daughters. The women were not named in court.

They said they could not understand how the school district did not know about the incidents.

Some said their daughters could no longer eat cookies or anything sweet unless they knew their mothers had baked the items for them. They spoke of girls who had now become unable to socialize and locked themselves in their bedrooms. (source)

This case has brought to light the slow response to allegations of abuse in the public school system.  This was not the first complaint brought forth against Berndt – there was several allegations in the 1990s – and yet he continued to be allowed to work with children.  Not only that, but when he was fired, the Los Angelos Unified District School Board gave him a $ 40,000 payout when he appealed the decision.

The Miramonte case led to a wide-ranging overhaul of how the nation’s second-largest school district handles allegations of sexual abuse after it was revealed that previous complaints about Berndt’s behavior were ignored.

It also showed how slowly state officials act to censure teachers and led to a flurry of allegations of teacher-student sex abuse in the district and in other school systems.

Shortly after Berndt’s arrest, the school district temporarily removed all 76 of the school’s teachers, along with staff and administrators, putting them on leave and having them report to an empty high school nearby.

Six months later, when the new school year began, 43 of them returned to a restructured Miramonte with a new principle. The rest either retired or went to new schools. None was accused of any wrongdoing. (source)

Florida Teen Tweets Selfie With Pregnant Teacher "Going Into Labor"

florida, teen, tweets, selfie, with, pregnant, teacher, Florida Teen Tweets Selfie With Pregnant Teacher “Going Into Labor”

Florida high school student Malik Whiter has gone bonkers viral to the tune of 20,000+ retweets after posting a selfie while his pregnant teacher was experiencing contractions.

Millennials, man. Millennials.

The teacher, Susana Halleck, was on the phone telling her mother the situation was under control. (And it turned out that she wasn’t going into labor just yet as well.)

There’s so much to love here, from Whiter’s sheer joy and winning smile to his teacher’s “Oh my god I cannot have a baby in math class” expression. The image is already inspiring parodies of Malik taking selfies at what might charitably be described as inappropriate times (credits to Gawker commenters):

And of course this happened in Florida, America’s unsecured junk. Because where else?

Kidnapped Teacher: Rebels Said Assad Not Behind Chemical Weapons Attack

“It is a moral duty to say this”

Paul Joseph Watson
Prison Planet.com
September 9, 2013

A Belgian teacher who was kidnapped by rebels in Syria said he overheard the militants acknowledging that President Bashar Al-Assad was not responsible for last month’s chemical weapons attack.

Speaking French, Piccinin tells RTL that he overheard rebels acknowledging that Assad was not behind the chemical weapons attack.

Pierre Piccinin da Prata was kidnapped along with Italian war journalist Domenico Quirico back in April near Damascus. According to Quirico, the two were subjected to torture, humiliation and mock executions by the western-backed rebels. They were freed yesterday and flown to Rome after the Italian Foreign Ministry managed to secure their release.

According to Quirico, the rebels who held him and Piccinin as prisoners set about on a “terrifying odyssey across Syria.”

“We were moved around a lot…it was not always the same group that held us, there were very violent groups, very anti-West and some anti-Christian,” he told AFP, adding that when the two escaped they were tracked down by rebels within 48 hours and “seriously punished.”

Piccinin told Italy’s RTL radio that he heard a conversation during which members of the Abu Ammar rebel brigade admitted that Assad was not behind the attack in Ghouta that the Obama administration has cited in building a case for military intervention.

“It is a moral duty to say this. The government of Bashar al-Assad did not use Sarin gas or other types of gas in the outskirts of Damascus,” said Piccinin.

While the Obama administration has insisted that “common sense” and not “irrefutable evidence” is enough to prove that Assad was behind the attack, others have begged to differ.

On Friday, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the attack was a “provocation” carried out by rebels in order to create a pretext for US military intervention.

Phone calls intercepted by Germany’s BND intelligence also indicate that Assad was not behind last month’s attack nor any other alleged chemical weapons incident.

Last week, Russia announced that it had compiled a 100 page report proving opposition rebels “were behind a deadly sarin gas attack in an Aleppo suburb earlier this year,” the same attack that Carla Del Ponte, the leading member of the UN inquiry into the incident, blamed on rebels.

As we previously highlighted, Syrian rebels in the Damascus suburb of Ghouta admitted to a reporter that they were responsible for last month’s chemical weapons incident which western powers have blamed on Bashar Al-Assad’s forces, revealing that the casualties were the result of an accident caused by rebels mishandling chemical weapons provided to them by Saudi Arabia.

Despite the fact that the report was written by credible Associated Press and BBC correspondent Dale Gavlak, it has received virtually zero mainstream attention.

In addition, leaked phone conversations that emerged earlier this year between two members of the Free Syrian Army contain details of a plan to carry out a chemical weapons attack capable of impacting an area the size of one kilometer. Footage was also leaked showing opposition militants testing what appeared to be nerve agents on laboratory rabbits.

On Thursday we featured a video of an FSA militant apparently confessing to using chemical weapons in order to follow Osama Bin Laden’s mantra of killing women and children.

Bahrain says deports U.S. teacher for writing articles on radical websites

ABU DHABI | Sun Aug 11, 2013 2:59am EDT

ABU DHABI (Reuters) – Bahrain has deported a U.S. nursery school teacher it says wrote articles on social media sites linked to radical groups and for violating the terms of her work permit as the kingdom intensifies its crackdown on dissent.

The Ministry of State for Communications did not identify the woman but said she wrote under a pen name and had broken the law by working as an unaccredited journalist.

The teacher wrote articles for online publications including As-Safir newspaper, which is linked to Lebanon’s Iran-backed Shi’ite group Hezbollah, and the outlawed Bahrain Center for Human Rights newsletter, the state news agency said on Saturday.

No one at the Bahrain Center for Human Rights was available for comment.

The ministry had received a complaint about the woman who used Twitter and other social media to write articles “deemed to incite hatred against the government and members of the Royal family, as well as spreading misinformation and encouraging divisions in Bahraini society based on religious sect”, it said.

Bahrain, a majority Shi’ite country ruled by the Sunni al Khalifa family, has been buffeted by unrest since the start of the Arab Spring uprisings in 2011, with mostly Shi’ite Bahrainis agitating for democratic reforms and more say in government.

The island, which is home to the U.S. Fifth Fleet and sits between top oil exporter Saudi Arabia and Iran, has expelled several foreigners for involvement in documenting unrest.

In February 2012, two American rights activists were deported for trying to report on events marking the first anniversary of demonstrations for democratic reforms.

Fla. teacher fired after she put out a fire in the school

(ANGEL CLARK)   Michelle Hammack, a teacher from Arlington, Fla., was fired last week because she left her classroom to put out an oven fire. The teacher smelled smoke at the Little Temples Childcare School during her student’s naptime. Hammack left her class when she smelled something burning. “I just leaned over and peeked around and there was a fire in the oven,” Hammack said. “I ran in there and opened it to try to put it out, and the fire alarm started going off.” She told CBS Jackonville, “When I got to the third classroom by the kitchen, I could see that it was just a contained fire in the oven.” Hammack returned to her class and evacuated her children a safe distance away from the school. After her children were accounted for she ran back into the building, located a fire extinguisher and headed back to the oven fire. She extinguished and contained the fire before the fire department arrived. The owner, Olga Rozhaov, fired Hammack for leaving her children unattended while she went to track down the smoke. “I fired her only because she left her room,” said Rozhaov.

Philly priest, teacher get prison time for boy"s sexual assault

(CNN) — A Philadelphia Catholic priest was sentenced Wednesday to six to 12 years in prison, and a teacher at the same parish was sentenced to eight to 16 years in prison, in a case involving the sexual assault of an elementary school student.

The Rev. Charles Engelhardt, who was a priest at St. Jerome Parish in northeast Philadelphia, was convicted in January of indecently assaulting a 10-year-old boy in 1998 and 1999.

The parochial teacher, Bernard Shero, who authorities said raped the same boy in 2000, was convicted of rape, attempted rape, involuntary deviant sexual intercourse, indecent sexual assault and other charges.

Both men also must serve five years of probation after prison, the judge ordered at Wednesday’s sentencing.

“This prison sentence sends a clear message to sexual assault victims in Philadelphia. If you come forward, you will be heard,” Philadelphia District Attorney Seth Williams said. “I would also like to compliment the jury for its hard work in carefully sifting through the evidence, and coming up with a just verdict.”

(AP) — On Monday, April 4, 2005, a priest walked up to the Renaissance palazzo housing the Vatican’s doctrine department and asked the doorman to call the official in charge: It was the first day of business after Pope John Paul II had died, and the cleric wanted to get back to work.

The office’s No. 2, Archbishop Angelo Amato, answered the phone and was stunned: This was no ordinary priest. It was Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger, his boss, who under the Vatican’s arcane rules had technically lost his job when John Paul died.

“It tells me of the great humility of the man, the great sense of duty, but also the great awareness that we are here to do a job,” said Bishop Charles Scicluna, who worked with Ratzinger before he became Pope Benedict XVI, inside the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith.

In resigning, Scicluna said, Benedict is showing the same sense of humility, duty and service as he did after the Catholic Church lost its last pope.

“He has done his job.”

When Benedict flies off into retirement by helicopter on Thursday, he will leave behind a church in crisis — one beset by sex scandal, internal divisions and dwindling numbers.

But the pope can count on a solid legacy: While his very resignation was his most significant act, Benedict — in a quieter way — also set the church back on a conservative, tradition-minded path.

He was guided by the firm conviction that many of the ills afflicting the church could be traced to a misreading of the reforms of the Second Vatican Council.

He insisted that the 1962-65 meetings that brought the church into the modern era were not a radical break from the past, as portrayed by many liberals, but rather a continuation of the best traditions of the 2,000-year-old church.

Benedict was the teacher pope, a theology professor who turned his Wednesday general audiences into master classes about the Catholic faith and the history, saints and sinners that contributed to it.

In his teachings, he sought to boil Christianity down to its essential core. He didn’t produce volumes of encyclicals like his predecessor, just three: on charity, hope and love. (He penned a fourth, on faith, but retired before finishing it.)

Considered by many to be the greatest living theologian, he authored more than 65 books, stretching from the classic “Introduction to Christianity” in 1968 to the final installment of his triptych on “Jesus of Nazareth” last year — considered by some to be his most important contribution to the church. In between he produced the “Catechism of the Catholic Church” — essentially a how-to guide to being a Catholic.

Benedict spent the bulk of his early career in the classroom, as a student and then professor of dogma and fundamental theology at universities in Bonn, Muenster, Tuebingen and Regensburg, Germany.

“His classrooms were crowded,” recalled the Rev. Joseph Fessio, a theology student of Ratzinger’s at the University of Regensburg from 1972-74, and now the English-language publisher of his books.

“I don’t recall him having notes,” Fessio said. “He would stand at the front of the class, and he wasn’t looking at you, not with eye contact, but he was looking over you, almost meditating.”

It’s a style that he’s kept for 40 years.

“If you hear him give a sermon, he’s speaking not from notes, but you can write it down and print it,” Fessio said. “Every comma is there. Every pause.”

Benedict never wanted to be pope and he didn’t take easily to the rigors of the job. Elected April 19, 2005, after one of the shortest conclaves in history, Benedict was, at 78, the oldest pope elected in 275 years and the first German in nearly a millennium.

At first he was stiff.

Giovanni Maria Vian, editor of the Vatican newspaper L’Osservatore Romano, recalled that in the early days Benedict used to greet crowds with an awkward victory gesture “as if he were an athlete.”

“At some point someone told him that wasn’t a very papal gesture,” Vian said. Benedict changed course, opting for an open-armed embrace or an almost effeminate twinkling of his fingers on an outstretched hand as a way of connecting with the crowd.

“No one is born a pope,” Vian said. “You have to learn to be a pope.”

And slowly Benedict learned.

Crowds accustomed to a quarter-century of superstar John Paul II, grew to embrace the soft-spoken, scholarly Benedict, who had an uncanny knack for being able to absorb different points of view and pull them together in a coherent whole.

He traveled, though less extensively than John Paul, and presided over Masses that were heavy on Latin, Gregorian chant and the silk brocaded vestments of his pre-Vatican II predecessors.

Benedict seemed genuinely surprised by the warm reception he received — as well as the harsh criticism when things went wrong, as they did when he lifted the excommunication of a bishop who turned out to be a Holocaust-denier.

For a theologian who for decades had worked toward reconciliation between Catholics and Jews, the outrage was fierce and painful.

Benedict was also burdened by what he called the “filth” of the church: the sins and crimes of its priests.

As prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, Benedict saw first-hand the scope of sex abuse as early as the 1980s, when he tried unsuccessfully to persuade the Vatican legal department to let him remove abusive priests quickly.

But it was 2001 before he finally stepped in, ordering all abuse cases sent to his office for review.

“We used to discuss the cases on Fridays; he used to call it the Friday penance,” recalled Scicluna, who was Ratzinger’s sex crimes prosecutor from 2002-2012.

Still, to this day, Benedict hasn’t sanctioned a single bishop for covering up abuse.

“Unfortunately, Pope Benedict’s legacy in the abuse crisis is one of mistaken emphases, missed opportunities, and gestures at the margin, rather than changes at the center,” said Terrence McKiernan of BishopAccountability.org, an online resource of abuse documentation.

He praised Benedict for meeting with victims, and acknowledged the strides the Vatican made under his leadership. But, he said Benedict ignored the problem for too long, “prioritizing concerns about dissent over the massive evidence of abuse that was pouring into his office.”

“He acted as no other pope has done when pressed or forced, but his papacy has been reactive on this central issue,” McKiernan said in an email.

Benedict also gets poor grades from liberal Catholics, who felt abandoned by a pope who seemed to roll back the clock on the modernizing reforms of Vatican II and launched a crackdown on Vatican nuns, deemed to have strayed too far from his doctrinal orthodoxy.

Some priests are now living in open rebellion with church teaching, calling for a rethink on everything from homosexuality to women’s ordination to priestly celibacy.

“As Roman Catholics worldwide prepare for the conclave, we are reminded that the current system remains an ‘old boys club’ and does not allow for women’s voices to participate in the decision of the next leader of our church,” said Erin Saiz Hanna, head of the Women’s Ordination Conference, a group that ordains women in defiance of church teaching.

The group plans to raise pink smoke during the conclave “as a prayerful reminder of the voices of the church that go unheard.”

___

But Benedict won’t be around at the Vatican to see it. His work is done. “Mission Accomplished,” Vian said.

And as the pope told 150,000 people in his final speech as pope: “To love the church is to have the courage to make difficult, painful choices, always keeping in mind the good of the church, not oneself.”
